The whole split, the shadiness going on, THAT DAMN LETTER, and all the drama. All the while, we were hoping and praying for them to reunite and drop another album. And then...gone. You knew there were lots of unresolved issues between Guru and Premier...and the death made those issues forever unresolved. This album dropping at the time it did, it felt like we have something that has long been denied us for over 15 years.

First Apollo Browns "Sincerely Detroit" album drops and now Gang Starr with a classic....Dj Premo and Guru (RIP) feat Royce Da Goat 5'9.....he said " we got the actual ashes of Guru on the boards....he's sitting right inside the urn for this session/ looking down from the heavens to see Gang Starr's current progression....thats dope....and for those who didn't know what sparked this whole movement for Premo to release this....a few weeks back Guru's family gave Premo some of Guru's actual ashes in a urn from his cremation. It touched Premo so deeply he was moved to make a project of unreleased Guru music for Gang Starr.
