As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain I take a look at the soil, and realise it needs rain But I've been milling and farming so long That even my lordship thinks that my mind is corn But I hast never crossed a Lord that ne’er deserved it Me, be treated like a serf? Well that’s actually heard of, Take heed what thou be prating, where thou be striding, Or thou and thine maidens might be for a lashing, I surely hate the King but I gots to work, As I plough, yonder village going up in smoke Fools, I'm the kind of Farmer little ruffians try to be like On thine knees in the night, sowing wheat by the moonlight Been spending most thine life living in a peasants paradise Been spending most thine life living in a peasants paradise Keep spending most my life living in this feudal paradise Keep spending most our lives living in this feudal paradise Look at the situation my lordship hath me facing I can't live a normal life, thou was’t raised by the wheat fields So I have to be strong for the plough team But too much maiden watching has me chasing dreams An uneducated fool with groschen on my mind Got my scythe in my hand and a gleam in my eye I'm a burned out peasant, but I still fly the banner Yet my grindstone’s wet so don't arouse my anger Fools, death art nothing but a plague rat away I'm living life plough or die, what can I say? I'm 23 now, but will I live to see 24? The way the plague is going, I don't know… Been spending most thine life living in a peasants paradise Been spending most thine life living in a peasants paradise Keep spending most my life living in my lordship’s paradise Keep spending most our lives living in my lordship’s paradise Ploughing for the wheat, milling for the flour, Minute after minute, hour after hour Everybody's watching, and half of them are starving, “It's for the lordship’s kitchen!”, but I don't know what's cookin' They say “thou should learn”, there’s no baker here to teach me if I don’t understand it, who gonna feed me? I know they can't, I know they won't I know that buboes why I know my life is on the owt, fool! Been spending most thine life living in a peasants paradise Been spending most thine life living in a peasants paradise Keep spending most my life living in my lordship’s paradise Keep spending most our lives living in my lordship’s paradise Tell me why are we so blind to see That the king we serve would burn you and me? - a peasant, probably.

@@SayYourSomething The history of the Amish church began with a schism in Switzerland within a group of Swiss and Alsatian Mennonite Anabaptists in 1693 led by Jakob Ammann. Those who followed Ammann became known as Amish. [wiki] Basically around the 1850s or a little later the Old Order Amish (who we think of when we think of Amish) split off, and those are the ones who kept the level of technological progression they had attained up to that point. As thy walk through the valley of the shadow of death I take a look at myne life and realize there is nothing left 'Cause I've been feasting and fighting so long that Even the Pope thinks that my mind is gone. But I have never poisoned a man that didn't deserve it Me be treated like a peasent, you know that's unheard of You better watch how you're praying and where you're hunting Or you and your whole family might be laying in a casket. I really hate to go, but I gotta dance As they croak, I see their ghosts reflected on the head of my arrow Fool, I'm the nobleman all the little princes want to be like On my knees in the night, saying prayers in my lamp light. Been spending most their lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Been spending most their lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Keep spending most our lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Keep spending most our lives Living in a nobleman's paradise. Look at the situation they got me facing I can't live a normal life, I was raised by the court So I gotta be down with the royal team Too much manuscript reading, got me chasing dreams. I'm a educated fool with taxes on my mind Got some grain in my hand and a gleam in my eye I'm an opium warrior, addicted to danger And my wife has the plague, so don't arouse my anger. 'Tis, death is only a heart beat away I'm fighting in the Holy War, what can I say? I'm 12 now but will I live to see 13? The way things are going only God knows. Tell me why are we so blind to see That the ones we hurt are you and me? Been spending most their lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Been spending most their lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Keep spending most our lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Keep spending most our lives Living in a nobleman's paradise. Art and the money, loyalty and power Minute after minute, hour after hour All the Moors are fleeing, but half of them aren't looking It's going on at the stake, but I don't know who's cooking. They say I have to learn, but nobody's here to teach me If they can't understand it, how can the Holy Men reach me? I guess they can't, I guess they won't I guess they front, that's why I know I'm out of luck, fool. Been spending most their lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Been spending most their lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Keep spending most our lives Living in a nobleman's paradise Keep spending most our lives Living in a nobleman's paradise. Tell me why are we so blind to see That the ones we hurt are you and me? Tell me why are we so blind to see That the ones we hurt are you and me?

Ah, mirthful memories! This ballad doth transport me back to that time when my kinsmen and I did make merry at the tavern. Upon drinking our fill we quit the place, and happened upon a stranger outside. We did accost him, and we beat him until the blood flowed freely from his ears and mouth. There we left him, broken, and went to seek out the gutter wenches. Happy times!

Paradise of Vagabonds: As I walketh through the valley of the shadow of death I reflect on mine life and understandeth there is naught there For verily I have been boasting and laughing a long time Yea, even mine own mother thinketh I have become insane But I have never struck at a man who did not verily deserved to be struck They have treated me like a tramp, yea you knoweth that nobody have known such a thing One will do best to have a care how one talketh and walketh Lest one and one's friends suffer an early demise Verily I jest not, for I carry a weapon As one expires, I observeth my self as the assassin Fool, I am the sort of V the little children aspireth to be I bendeth my knees in the night, uttering prayers in candlelight They have spendeth a good number of their years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise They have spendeth a good number of their years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Yea, We have spendeth a good number of our years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Yea, We have spendeth a good number of our years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Consider ye the situation I have to face verily I cannot have a normal sojourn, raised as I was by the street Thus do I have to conform with the vagabonds Spent an overabundant number of times watching jesters, gave me the notion of pursuing my dreams I am a fool who can read and write, and who has a mind for riches Ten florins do I have in mine hands, my eyes a-gleamerin' I am a vagabond verily armed, with a mind for sin My friends, yea they are most prepared for it too, thus anger me not Fool, don't thee realize that death be but a heart beat yonder? I liveth life doing or dying, what say I? I am aged three and twenty, I do wonder if I will see four and twenty As things standeth, verily I knoweth not Tell me why are we so blind to the truth That who we afflict are verily you and me? They have spendeth a good number of their years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise They have spendeth a good number of their years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Yea, We have spendeth a good number of our years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Yea, We have spendeth a good number of our years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Power and the riches, riches and the power Minute after minute, hour after hour Everybody runneth, but naught but half looketh Something transpireth in the cooking chambers, but yea I know not what is being cooked They say I need learning, but I have no teachers If they comprehendeth it not, yea how can they reach me? I reckon they cannot, I reckon they will not I reckon they only put on a face, thus do I know that I have no more luck, fool! They have spendeth a good number of their years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise They have spendeth a good number of their years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Yea, We have spendeth a good number of our years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Yea, We have spendeth a good number of our years Sojourning in a vagabond's paradise Tell me why are we so blind to the truth That who we afflict are verily you and me?
