I can’t thank you enough for all your videos ! I have followed you from the beginning when I looked for a magnesium lotion recipe and that’s when I started to hear you mention GAPs. I didn’t know then how much I needed the diet because we were already on a nourishing traditions diet but then I got Hashimotos and my husband suffered serious digestive issues and already had dyslexia. We did the diet on and off while we learnt the techniques and we are now healthier than ever! We could never get our children to eat how we eat and last year my eldest son started to suffer terrible summer ruining hayfever and we noticed he reacted really badly to gluten after we cut it out for the kids . I couldn’t convince him to do the diet . He has a very healthy circle of homeschool friends but that means they bake and cook for each other all the time which is difficult when he is cutting out foods ! So I told him he could see the videos I watched where you have mentioned what your children eat and showed him how to make the recipes. Not only has it convinced him to stay on the diet and only eat our own food, but now he cooks the gaps way too!! And he’s only 9! And he asks me if you have put any new recipes up that he could try 😂😂

Coconut butter or manna is not coconut oil… that’s probably why it did not work out… most olive oils also have a distinctive flavor which is not what you want in this recipe

Why are you following gaps diet? I have mental illness and have severe irritable bowel syndrome and tried following the specific carbohydrate diet. It started to work but its not working now. Now I am looking into other diets to see what will work for me.
@BumblebeeApothecary2 жыл бұрын
Many people have experienced that with SCD and do much better when they switch to GAPS, as GAPS includes key things that SCD doesn't. I first followed GAPS over 10 years ago for fatigue, being underweight, frequent headaches, and cystic acne. It resolved everything for good! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4HJqaehp9uFZ8k

Hi Marisa! I love all your work it's been very helpful for me on gaps. Do you know why bee pollen is not allowed on the gaps diet? I am on stage 2-3, going very slow but have been craving it for a long time. Might it be still possible if I ferment the pollen in kombucha or whey...? Have you ever heard of dr. Natasha talking about the ketogenesis and ketogenic diet? Do you think she values it at all?? I am coming from keto/carnivore and still basically maintaining it but it seems I am getting out of ketosis often, specially with eating kefir (which I insanely crave 😊 I am quite hesitant in which direction I should go to: preferring to maintain ketosis so eating more fats + less protein to keep the balance Òr eating more fermented foods + protein and not worry about going back to carbohydrate burning...? I know you would say to listen to my body but I don't really feel it... 🤔 Thank you in advance 🌷
@BumblebeeApothecary3 жыл бұрын
These are great questions! I believe bee pollen isn't allowed because the molecular structure is too hard for the body to break down. If you're craving it, it might be interesting to try a little bit and see how you feel afterwards. Listening to your body is important, you just have to make sure you're listening to your body, and not pathogenic flora talking :) Yes, Dr. Natasha actually has a keto version of the GAPS diet, and she recommends it for people who need to control epilepsy. She says for other people (without epilepsy) to follow what the body asks for (again, making sure it's the body and not the pathogenic flora) and the body will go in and out of ketosis as it sees fit. Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out via email or Instagram if I can help further!

Hey! I domt do gaps but used to be strict keto 2 yrs for chronic disease management and not flip in and out. I feel my best in ketosis..bit also feel great going out to going back in. Have you met your goals? Ancestors likely went in and out for periods of history. I usually go out in summer and eat more bounty..gentler veggies like squashes. I also add longer fasts and do strict carnivore weeks. I think its important to think about the whys youre doing it and why its important to be strict. Be coming fat adapted your body will easily go in and out without thinking. 🙏
@gettintherejanice62162 жыл бұрын
if you are able to get the newest book the blue one she talks about there are some variations of how different people thrive on different versions of the diet. some really thrive on a keto version some thrive on a no plants version a more plants version and a liquid based version my suggestion on staying ketogenic while consuming kefir is to make it with cream or more cream and less milk. so yes there is a place for keto version of gaps
@jacqueline1752 Жыл бұрын
From what I understood the kefir grains consume most of the lactose in the milk, especially if you do a longer ferment. This would basically cut the carbs drastically.

Hope you find a good organic source!
@slee7991 Жыл бұрын
I can't answer this question. However I'm in the same boat and honestly the only thing I keep reminding myself of is many ppl have been healed like Kelly hogan or Dr berry says you don't need panda massaged meats. Although I know organic pasture raised from local sources are best personally my butcher charges an arm and a leg for even just tallow. So how are all the everyday people suppose to afford locally raised meats. So we all do what we can. And again... Kelly hogan was eating McDonald's burgers for quite some time and had some great results.
@MrsS520 Жыл бұрын
I recently read in Dr Natasha’s book that she has seen patients use whatever meats they can afford and they achieved healing. Because animals have a detox pathway eating conventional meat isn’t terrible. But when it comes to produce get as much organic as you can reasonably afford. I follow the dirty dozen and clean 15 lists for organic vs non organic.
