Thank you! Yeah, I've come to appreciate taking the time to make sure the prep is perfect before laying down the floor. Time spent now is headaches saved later!

Nice job!! Did you roll the intermediate over wet primer? Does that work well?
@royerfromjersey6 ай бұрын
Yep. I was worried about that from the start, but with the material we use, you can pretty much go over it right away and or come back the next day to do the intermediate coat.

Did you do the stem wall with the primer? Or intermediate coat? Floor looks good!!
@royerfromjersey9 ай бұрын
Appreciated! We used the intermediate as it's a bit thicker and easier for the flake to stick to. Used to do primer + intermediate but it was way overkill and time consuming. Walls don't see that much traffic!

@@royerfromjersey so you can just do the stem wall with intermediate and not primer? I’m always worried to put the intermediate in a roller pan and do the walls that the rest of the mix will harden before I get to it
@royerfromjersey8 ай бұрын
@@jacobbrown7104 yep - not sure about your materials, but we use a 100% solid intermediate coat that's pretty thick & thicker than the 93% primer coat. It will for sure set up quicker if you leave it in the bucket and or even the tray where it's confined and cooks quick in the plastic. Two guys makes it a bit easier for the roll + throw flow and we put a thick coat on and then will backroll it a little more after it sets up to pull the paint out a bit before we throw on the flake. On walls where we had to go up pretty high, I would lay backer-rod about 3" away from the wall or just enough to fit a roller head. Tape over the backer-rod on both sides to create a dam like hump and then pour the material into the area and backroll it on the wall. A bit more labor intensive for the setup, but it saved a lot of time and anxiety wondering if I was going to have enough material / time to flake etc.

Really like your videos. Hey what is the red box that you plug your Hilti dg 150 into? Thanks ! I want one . $2k though - can’t pull the trigger on that one yet.

much appreciated! it's the power conditioner that comes with the kit - Hilti DPC 20. I hear you. We went with a buy once, cry once philosophy on things that would exponentially increase speed / save time on redundancies and the the Hilti combo really made the most sense with what we offer with our "dust free' experience and the hours / workload you can put on the machine.
Thank you. I looked it up when I zoomed in on the video- does Hilti offer any discounts when buying the grinder and power conditioning as a package? Thanks again! You guys do really good work
@royerfromjersey10 ай бұрын
@@upsideways not that I know of when you buy direct from Hilti. Good chance a local supplier / Hilti store might offer a package deal. Ebay does have some pretty good deals on them used.
