That’s got to be the best finish I’ve ever seen in a GK figure’s face The expression is amazing and the paint job only makes it better

Very nice, Shuten Douji is such a beautiful character.

This is my favorite Shuten Doji kit. The sculpt is absolutely beautiful and you did an amazing job! If I have a lot of air bubbles in an area, I thin surfacer with lacquer thinner, heavily paint over the area with a brush, then sand once it dries.

I will try that, thanks!

all the post-processing you have to do makes me feel better about preparing 3D printing for the bubbles you could use a primer-filler but that's not ideal either
@MTMario3 күн бұрын
I use a crayon to fill any tiny airbubbles. Just rub over the area, sand again. Heavy solvent based paints won't ruin it either. I do recommend not using a ultrasonic cleaner, as it'll just take away all the bubbles you filled. Great video

Thank you! I will try it if I ever get bubbles again.

Try changing CA glue with UV putty Its much softer, easier to sculpt & builds up better than CA You can glue UV putty with CA to in case it fall off By the way, why do you not use mr hobby or gaia notes lacquers? Is it hard access to it, or you just prefer "non toxic"? And how do you clean the airbrush from vallejos?
@alheak12 күн бұрын
Thanks, I could try out the UV putty in some situations, I like CA glue because it is a lot faster to use most of the time but it's true that it's not always ideal. The reason I don't use lacquers much is indeed because of the toxicity and some like Gaianotes are very hard to get here. I'm also used to acrylics so as long as they work I don't tend to change. To clean Vallejo and other acrylics I just rinse with 50% diluted IPA while brushing inside the cup and backflowing until it sprays clean. Some people use boiling water instead and it seems to be more effective than IPA but I haven't tried it.

Hope it's ok to ask, are those "Milling" Drill bits you use for the magnets? Can't think of the keyword to use for finding them on amazon ^^;;;

@@EmeraldAngelStudio I'm not too sure, but any dremel bits used for drilling holes should work, there isn't anything special about them.

Better to not use Tamiya X-26/X-27, it's dye stuff, use pigment ones instead...
