Great and informative video. I liked that you showed what you did and explaining things . I just purchased a 1982 SL380 , that has been sitting for a while. I now have three SL's. The reason I purchased a fixer upper was to learn more about fixing them. I plan on draining the tank and replacing the fuelpump and filter and cleaning out the fuel lines . Will probably also clean the injectors and possibly rebuild the fuel distributor. And checking other things too , like the plugs,wires , cap , etc . Best Regards

Hello I was Wondering I have a 1975 Mercedes Benz 450 SL and I want to know if my exhaust manifold has a leak in it well that cause the temperature gage to go up? Thank you

nice vid.how much did you paid for the tank repair? I'm deciding between getting it repaired or buying a new one, seems both options are the same price, and not cheap at all.thank you

It was right about $170 if I remember correctly. Took them like 2 months though, it was a pain in the ass. I'm parting out the car now, so if you want this tank and live close to Albuquerque let me know!

how did you actually get it out? why is it hung up?....mine is hung up and I am perplexed

Make sure all fuel lines on the bottom are disconnected (there are two on the driver side for the return) and make sure that the big filter/bolt thing (fuel supply) is removed from the bottom of the tank. Then pull back on the left side to get the filler tube out of the body panel. Best of luck!
