How do i get rid off hard edges on paint? Taped around the area i was painting only to then be given hard edges due the the tape

@@nasimahmed3356 don't clear or paint up to a hard tape line. There's ways to make it soft. It's hard for me to answer cause I don't know the situation. Are you referring to base coat or clear?

Great video! I’ve always had a hard time getting the filler perfect. A friend of mine used to have me close my eyes in between sanding. When I moved my hand over the fresh sanded area, It was easier to feel the hi and low spots.

Only if I have to. If I can have a uniform primer sanded to 600 ready for paint without sealer that's the best option without a paint booth.

you got alot of patients lol sanding with 180. I would use 100 on a light filler like that. other times 80 grit on very heavy bodywork. I finish my bodywork in 320 and prime. sand the primer with 400 and use a light sealer sometimes depending on the job.

Hey there, I have a old steel horse trailer that's dented a little and rusted. I plan on painting it myself. You think I can pot filler on the small dents, sand the rust and paint it without taking all of the old paint off?

Depends what your looking for. If your just wanting to clean it up then yes that would work fine . You may consider shooting a sealer over it before you paint.

Because of body filler? Body filler is really high quality stuff these days it's not like when it first came out. There won't be any problems with cracking . Don't be afraid of using filler. The only problem is when people miss use it by applying it way too thick.

Sure, if your concerned about adhesion this is a good one . Inexpensive and wrks well. I will sometimes use a thin coat of glaze to finish with. When it's straight with the rest on the panel. Use guide coat it helps to ensure the panel is level. Check out some of my other body filler video's I think it will be helpful. Appreciate the comment and support

So about 10 minutes between coats of primer but always check manufacturer's recommendations. After the primer is dry and sandable then your ok to paint.

Whats your opinion on bondo?? Its the cheapest right? I worked with it but i honestly thought all fillers were hard to work with like bondo whats your opinion?

The bondo brand it's been a long time since I used it. The best cheap body filler I've ever used is R1 it's made by a subsidiary of Roberlo. Evercoat make good filler. You want good filer if you have alot of body work. There's a big difference in how a quality filler sands. It's much easier . Gallon will be about 50-60 bucks but it's worth it. Rage ultra is my go to right now.

@@GarageNoise i was about to fix some rust spots and almost got bondo till i did some more reasearch and this roberlo works wayyy cleaner and easier than the bondo i hated it for a spray or some that stops rust after cleaning inside and out as good as possible what so you recommend rusteuleum? @@rodolfogiles8055 rust spots where? I use por15 on chassis and it's great stuff inside body panels cavity wax or rust inhibitor like ospho it's not as heavy and kills the rust . Check out tomorrows video repairing rust on the bottom of a door.

Good question! Remember if you replace the fender now you need to blend the color into the door and the hood . You would Also need to remove trim on that door to do it properly. So just repairing the fender in this case saves time and materials. Appreciate the support brother!

I would just knock it out from the inside remove the wheel liner and hammer and dolly away, lol sometimes I hate using the stud guns. the guns are too heavy and the one you have.. it is good but for dings or if you got like 30 minutes of time to pull out. when i do bodywork i try to get it into bondo as fast as possible

Do that same repair on a bmw, and I will explain the rest. But a Chrysler, dodge has the most flexible mild steel available on every panel.

Yes if you just want to make it look better and not perfect. A pdr tech might be able to make it perfect without paint but I lack those skills.

you should have started with 80 then 120 would have been faster but if your not careful you can sand too much off

Normally I would have but this Roberlo filler is designed to sand easy with 180 but 80 would've been quicker.

Why wait until filler is mixed before masking alway do all prep first and why not cover wheel to keep dust from calliper etc If you are telling us about a repair keep to facts not tell us about the make of filler stay on message

Could've had that back to the customer, in brand new condition in 10-15 minutes , with that one blue handled tool. PDR . Crazy someone would want to repaint thier vehicle and lose all that value , when that dent was beginner level PDR!
