Hey man, Idk if you remember me but I’m a 132 who was having trouble with my bench press. I’ve totally destroyed that trouble. Weighing 132lbs, standing 6ft tall, and being 15 years old, I pushed 201LBS yesterday on the bench!!!!

Do you walk at 132ish because that’s really strong for your height to weight ratio

This I could definitely work with. Back in wrestling I was right leg dominant and I can say I built a pretty respectable explosive shot. But now that I’m in MMA I need to build a shot out of my orthodox stance. So I want that same level of explosiveness

Hey man, are explosive/jump weighted pistol squats good to improve double leg/single leg takedowns?
@GarageStrength2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Try single leg squats and step-up jumps, as well!

This is so interesting to get a wrestling perspective on explosive movements. I’m a gymnastics coach and I just started Jiu jitzu, I’ve notice a lot of the wrestlers are obviously much better, but they also move a lot more like gymnast. Makes sense because every single thing you showed in this video are things that we do in Gymnastics :-) instead of using the hurdles to do over unders we use beams, but other than that very similar. Your guy did a great job on the one legged jump overs, I know how hard it is to keep your chest up when you are that large. Did a great job.

it looks like you just made all this up. that elastic band tied up leg jumping thing looks goofy and impractical.
@lurkytespaed64695 ай бұрын
Yeah, definitely. Just as goofy as a boxer training slips... How impractical to practice moving their body in ways that defend from their opponents methods of attack.

Hey coach would this also help in basketball? Since we have to be low and explosive? I keep pulling my lower back in basketball ever since i hit my 30's. My body is not reacting fast enough than my brain anymore and when i know a player is driving in but im facing the other way i usually pull my lower back when all of a sudden i explode with speed and try to intercept them 😑🥲

This could be beneficial for basketball players like yourself! Check out our recent Basketball video for some specific training!
