We clean off the roof today and as the temp creeps up we decide to bond the rubber and then cover with insulation to protect it from the cold case it drops below 0.

I read those comments on the other video. Some people aren't happy unless they're digging at other? I'm a chippy myself and build garden rooms often, the process is almost exact to yours, and i can safety say i'll be doing the electrics your way from now on, makes much more sense. These videos have been great and I am still learning after all this time in the trade. Cheers

Just started watching your videos yesterday. I built a raised kids cabin in the garden about 7 years ago and plan to build a more substantial garden room in the future. Love watching the videos they will be a great help for doing mine. The construction part I am fine with as I have basically done what you have but on a smaller scale. It is the installation of membranes and insulation that I don’t know about. Now I do I can have a go myself. Many thanks

Your right with the contact adhesive , I’ve done over 10 of these roofs the last 2 haven’t used the adhesive all it does it when the wind catches it goes everywhere and it you put the 100mm edge over slightly too quick it will bubble the rubber . the only thing it is perfect is bonding to masonry on an upstand

I prefer to use the contact adhesive simply, because occasionally when you put the kerbs on it can bubble the edge back. Just preference i suppose. Have you tried a squeegee on the roof yet? Thinking of giving it a try on my next roof, in a couple days. Have you tried the firestone spray on contact adhesive? Can get messy, but absolute timesaver. PS , invest in a roller pole and save your back. Great video, i already have started to do a couple of things the same way as you guys, everyday's a school day.

For what my little opinion is worth I personally think you do a fantastic job and have inspired me to buy a home pack from you so I can start to build my own space in the garden. I can't wait for spring to arrive so I can get stuck in with it. When and if I can, will gladly send you pictures from the start to finish in the hope it inspires others like me to do the same. I’ve built a shed however I’ve only used 3x2 on my roof I’ve put in n 25mm pir board between the joists yet it seems to be getting condensation and it’s freezing on the underside of the roof. I have put a soffit on each end for the over hangs, which I will be venting using ASAP but I concerned I will still get condensation even with it vented please help as I don’t want all this work to go to pot as I’m now been made redundant and cannot afford a new roof.

Hiya, I am refurbishing my brick shed and I have battened the walls with 22x47 timbers for plasterboard, the walls are single skin so there’s no wall cavities of any kind. Do you have to put any kind of insulation between the battens or can you get away with it, as I can’t seem to find any kind of insulation that’s narrow enough to fit between the battens - the closest is 25mm but the depth of the battens to the wall is 22 so that’s not going to work. Is there anything you would suggest and also how do you fix the wooden pattresses to the sides, like skew the screws through the side or use brackets of some kind??
