About Us.
Byther Farm is a small organic homestead, being designed and managed using permaculture practices. We aim for self-sufficiency in fruit and vegetables for increased self reliance and better resilience to the modern world. I recognise that we are unlikely to be truly self sufficient, but do the best we can. I share our home with my loving husband, Mr J.
We are a fifty-something couple who live on a smallholding in Carmarthenshire, Wales. We are going green and creating a gentler, cleaner and more healthy life for our family.
Having had a highly successful smallholding in Monmouthshire, we hope to recreate the abundance at our new home. There will be a large organic kitchen garden with no dig gardening raised beds and young food forest in which to grown our fruit and vegetables.
We keep a few sheep and Aylesbury ducks.
Music from Epidemic Sound.

You completely summed up how I feel about gardening at the end. Just getting outside and being part of nature - that's the best thing no matter what grows or what doesn't grow - the whole process is like connecting with something simple and primal. Thank you for this lovely video.

It's so nice to be working in my own garden, I don't mind the time it takes to get things done!

Exactly! It's the process as much as the results.

Well done Liz! Thanks for this down to earth video, including the heavy breathing. I mean it! The effort often goes uncommented - even when it is a necessary ingredient to slowing down. But - or AND, so many of us have health issues, physical ans mental and everything inbetween. The effort can be so much more than that which is visible in these beautiful, inspiring videos.

Iv heard that copper stops slugs, if there's a place you don't want slugs put a piece of copper around the base of the plant and they won't cross that barrier.... don't know if that works but have you heard of that?
@LizZorab
@LizZorab 42 минут бұрын
Yes I've heard that. I'd have to have a lot of copper to protect all these plants!

Ah, yes, distracted gardening. Start one job, see something else needs doing, start that, and so on...
