About Us.
Byther Farm is a small organic homestead, being designed and managed using permaculture practices. We aim for self-sufficiency in fruit and vegetables for increased self reliance and better resilience to the modern world. I recognise that we are unlikely to be truly self sufficient, but do the best we can. I share our home with my loving husband, Mr J and our cat, Monty.
We are a fifty-something couple who live on a smallholding in Carmarthenshire, Wales. We are going green and creating a gentler, cleaner and more healthy life for our family.
Having had a highly successful smallholding in Monmouthshire, we hope to recreate the abundance at our new home. There will be a large organic kitchen garden with no dig gardening raised beds and young food forest in which to grown our fruit and vegetables.
We keep a few sheep and Aylesbury ducks.
Music from Epidemic Sound.

The roses will look lovely in those garden beds. I love how you use things that you make do with the materials you have on hand.

I am so jazzed about this hanging bed contraption. Looks like something I would do, but around here, it would be ill-fated...I can just see all the woodland creatures swinging wildly from it, once they'd got the hang, complete with disco ball and pulsing colored lights...lol ( we have no covered area/tunnel and lots of trees.) I love this plan and really hope it works!

Those roses should be spectacular for years to come! I have to find the flower seeds for the coming year, have absolutely no idea what the seasons will do. Are you going to secure the grid and drain pans? I would only because I am such a clutz, probably knock them around. Happy belated birthday. 🇨🇦🌹

This sealing off of the native soil (mine has clay as well) is why I have switched away from these dense membranes to cardboard. The mixing starts much quicker.
@LizZorab
@LizZorab 5 ай бұрын
I have used this cornstarch membrane to allow myself to build a deeper level of compost above the membrane before it breaks down. I want to ensure that fewer seeds are exposed to light and reduce the chances of all the field weed seeds germinating.
