The grassy area in front of the greenhouse should be made into a fenced in unique play area with bug motels, bird feeders, interactive water feature, swings and "hobbit" tunnel/house. Maybe lawn checkers or horse shoes?

@@jgwood10 She wondered what to do with it. Often landscaping (herbaceous and hard) is based on walk patterns and habit of use. She already has a decorative fence around her raised bed garden, so I could see carrying that down to just before where she has the concrete containers with the bulbs stored in front of the greenhouse. If Benjamin likes that area to play, then why not make it a play area Laura style? I could see them putting in an outdoor train.

Just a low fence for a boundary... or a low 'Stone' wall would be awesome. Raised Sand Box (for Ben's Cars & Trucks) and a teepee? Small slide / 2 swings (nothing too big) Plant another Weeping Willow...or tree that will hold a 'tree swing' someday. Out the back door somewhere > what about where all those Bricks are? Is there enough room? > > This is close to everything... Near where they sit most of the time. > where this family can hang out!\\ Just open the back door and the kids and their Dog can go out to play! Don’t say sorry- I love the long tours! I know you have said before you don’t like doing monthly tours, but I think it would be great if you did do them again one day. It’s been really helpful to see your garden evolve over the seasons and over the years- particularly the “ugly” bits when things have not gone to plan. It is so good to be keep in mind no one has a perfect space every day of the year.

Absolutely loved the drone video at the end for a couple different reasons. First because the trees have no leaves yet you can see everything perfectly and secondly by zooming out a little more you got a great perspective of your property and the surrounding area. I've always wondered how your home was situated in your neighborhood. Fantastic video I was mesmerized for the entire time!

Why not do both walkways -- your idea and Aaron's? They would provide alternative paths to the various areas of your enlarged yard, when it's all complete. And, it will provide you with more sweeping areas for plantings.

There is so much to learn from the process. Thanks for showing things that are in every stage. Gardens don’t happen instantly. They transform over many months and years. No one can go in and do it all overnight. There’s too much to do and it is way too expensive. This is great. It’s real. I had to watch the drone view several times to fully appreciate what you have going on outside your property. If it were me, I would be lining the whole property with arborvitae. I guess I didn’t quite realize what you have going on surrounding your property. If I were able, and if it were for sale , I would buy the other chunk of property running parallel with your new driveway, where you lined the driveway with trees. Neighbors are nice but the surrounding area is turning into a subdivision, not my idea of nice. I would line the whole property with arborvitae so I wouldn’t have to see any of it. I guess I like seclusion or the feeling that very time I walked out my door the neighbors couldn’t see what I’m up to. My own little oasis where I don’t have to be part of everything unless I choose to. My home is surrounded on three sides with farm fields and I LOVE IT! Anyway just my thoughts. I know this is a book but I just have to say I CAN’T wait for the info structure to be done so you can just get on with it. PAUL IS AMAZING, BY THE WAY!💚🙃

Laura, I've been digging up tulips from a spot by my back door for over 10 years and they just keep coming. This will be the last year for them since the patio will cover that spot. My hellebores are in bloom, alliums coming up and bloomerang is going gangbusters. Peony is also starting to come up very fast, this will be a very exciting garden year. Lots of fun!

I dug up a 4'x4' area of daffodils and replanted some elsewhere and gave some away thinking I could plant something new in that area. I turned it all over and put compost in . Dang if a good number came up in that spot! Don't know how they managed to grow right side up.

i have been growing GG for about 15 years at various houses we have lived in. I garden in a zone 8. Believe it or not in about 4//5 years they will be huge. They put on an amazing amount of growth each year 12 to 18 inches a year. Best advice I can give is give them room and air to grow when you plant them. If you plant them to tightly packed together they tend to get spider mites or even mildew on the inner branches. Other advice do not over water them we live in a very hot humid climate and seriously I don't do a ton of extra watering and only use my irrigation system say once a week (water prices are very high). I use a 13-13-13 general cheap Home Depot generic brand fertilizer in the spring and toss it literally around them and that is it. I have never had blight or disease like I have seen others comment about on the internet. Hope this helps.

@@MK-qo6wothank you...at this very moment I’m researching how to plant them for privacy between building lots. We are building on 2.2 acres so there’s plenty of open space. I’m not sure how many to plant between us & a future neighbor who has decided to put his driveway very close to the property line. I’m happy to hear they grow fast.

@@annemelon5283 to be honest I’ve never lived in one place long enough to see my plantings mature or trees I’ve planted grow large. But they’re there for others to enjoy. My parents lived in the same home for over 60 yrs and the landscaping changed many times over the years. That’s what’s so fun about gardening & can be frustrating as well.

I love it ...you're going to have an H section in your garden, Helebors, Hostas, and Hydrangeas! Laura and Aaron, it's so nice to be able to hear you both when you're walking around filming. It's nice to see the transformation taking place in your lovely gardens. Laura, I'm glad Arron talked you into filming a garden tour now so we can tag along with you guys as your gardens get a new identity and makeover. Paul's idea of making those can holders for the different sizes of nursery pots was genius. We deal with strong winds here too, so I may have to do something similar. It seems like the taller plants always get blown over with a gust of wind.

When you replace the sidewalks with brick, maybe you should brick the gray concrete steps as well. It will all be so cohesive and intentional looking.
