Heidi this video on butterflies was so interesting. I love to learn new things and you sure taught me a lot. I never knew a male from a female butterfly and I never saw a butterfly lay an egg. Thank you so much Heidi. I am 82 years old and proof that you are never too old to learn. Those butterflies are lucky to have known you.

Thank you for this wonderful video and for your efforts to educate the public on the Monarch lifecycle. Their numbers have dramatically declined over the last several decades.This winter had the second lowest numbers overwintering in Mexico since they have been recorded. Planting host plants and nectar plants is more important now than ever. I have watched your other videos and know that you don’t do this, but for those who might be unaware, it’s also critical that pesticides/insecticides should never be used. Thank you for raising awareness ❤

I think I saw one of your monarch’s at my house the other day. I think you have recently done a release? My husband commented the other day that he hasn’t seen any monarch’s around and the next day I saw one. I leave all of the native milkweed that pops up in various places in my garden, I don’t care if it doesn’t belong there and looks out of place. It actually has a fragrant flower. 🌺💚🙃 I guess I should have listened awhile longer before commenting.🤭🌺💚🙃

Love all the information and close up details you gave about the Monarch's eggs and gender id. I was wondering what variety of allium that was at 12:04 with all the butterflies on it. 🦋

This is always amazing to watch. I planted milkweed for the first time this season. How soon do they find it? It just started blooming. I am in ATL, zone 8a. Thanks Hedi!

Will the milkweed recoup from the caterpillar eating it or is it something you keep buying new of?
@gardencrossings5 ай бұрын
Yes. We removed the pots they striped and grew them in another greenhouse. They filled out after 2-3 weeks.

Heidi, have you ever grown Meadow Blazingstar(Liatris ligulistylis)? It’s an absolute Monarch Magnet in my garden.
