The collapsed back leg issue strikes again. Right knee buckled(just inches from the ground at point of strike), head back and upper body back and front leg way out in front with no pressure or weight over it as a consequence. Creating power on the front foot shots comes from shifting weight into and over the front foot and leg, not by dipping with a collapsed trail leg ( unless it is your intention to elevate the ball with less control). Imagine trying to hit a golf ball or play baseball effectively with that action. I genuinely wish you the best in turning around your seasons fortunes Gareth but I know from first hand experience that the odds are against you if you don’t implement change. You’ve been given excellent advice previously and now you have to decide how much credibility that advice carries and whether you’re willing to apply it. I would suggest that you do just that and treat the rest of the season as a “free hit”. And the caught and bowled is out every single time. You can even hear the bat make contact with the ground before contacting the ball on the through or upswing. But that information isn’t necessary if you understand that there is no way that a ball can be bumped into the pitch and travel anywhere near that distance simply by blocking it. The difference in trajectory is also a give away. A topped or bumped ball has a completely different trajectory arc than one that is collected on the upswing.

Mate genuinely think it’s time your dropped or step down, get some runs in the lower grade and build your confidence up. You stall your teams entire innings putting pressure on everyone around you. Why not drop down to six for a few matches? When you have lost form and you are batting at four, the pressures is immense. If you drop down the order for a few matches, you will have less pressure and a chance to get some form back.

Some of the bowling from Corsham was just inviting to be hit and Jeremy obliged. Great partnership with 8 down to win such a match. Corsham couldnt believe what hit them. Watched a video today of another of my favourite clubs..Sanderstead. They were hammered at Woking, but Woking had an excellent 15 year old left arm spin bowler.
