@@EZMotoTim Tim I found out how to move the tool clusters in the top toolbar from left to right...on the left side of each cluster there is 5 tiny hard to see dots you hover your mouse pointer over the dots and left click hold down and just move the cluster to the left where ever you want them thats it...Hope this gives you a cool trick in basecamp...Thanks for your videos learned alot ! P.S...You can move the tools any which way you want them...Left right ...Right left..Up down You can even push the other tool clusters left or right...Very Cool...Cheers

The big fat edge arrows works fine for me - I discovered it by accident a few years ago. It's second nature now, just takes a little getting used to.

As is the case with many BaseCamp features that take some getting used to. Thanks for watching.

Hi Tim, I told you about the "big fat arrows," but to be honest, I usually zoom in and out, and move my pointer, to "chase" the location that I want to go to.

That's for submitting that method. It got me thinking about putting this video together. Again, thanks for watching.

When in route building mode I "pan" the map by carefully positioning the cursor and zooming the map out with the mouse wheel, then moving the cursor and zooming it back in again. Takes a few tries to get where you want for setting the next waypoint, but it seems to work.

Yes, that's another method I use sometimes. Thanks for watching.

I use the Mac OS version of Basecamp, so I'm not sure if this option exists in Windows app, but for me the easiest way to quickly switch from any mode to pan, is to press spacebar. You can also change the default key in preferences from spacebar to command or to shift key.

The Windows version does not have key preferences and the spacebar does not go to pan mode. The H key invokes pan mode. Thanks for watching.

This was a frustrating restriction for quite some time. Toggling between the hand and pencil whilst compiling a long squiggly offroad route requires lotsa mouse clicks to get in enough via points but not too many either.
