While watching the video, at about 11 minutes into the video, I noticed that the two airspeed indicators are not synchronized - which are off by about 2 knots, and the altimeter indicators are off by about 40 feet. Just thought you might wanna know.

Great video Richard. I'm excited to see if the G5's show any of the VNAV info once I get the plane back up in the air from the engine rebuild.

How do you mount the cameras on the wings? I don’t suppose you ran a power supply out there. And what’s your favorite mounts for the cockpit cameras?

Well done!!! Have the TXi in my aircraft also, and being a guy with plenty of grey hair and having learned on steam gauges, the capability of the system amazes me! Where did you learn all the tips and tricks? Does Garmin offer a course? I am probably only using 50% of the capability, because I don't know it's there! Safe travels, and tailwinds

Hi Denny. I haven't been able to find much out there in terms of training. I studied the Pilot Guide and made notes of things to look for and try out. My most informative discoveries have come from sharing tips with other TXi owners so I am interested to hear any tips you might have.

The Transition to Approach Enabled is a feature that is as far as I understand only for Garmin GFC600 autopilots. Am I missing something?
@MalibuFlyer5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael. No, it's a setting in the Garmin GTN 750 that determines if and when the VNAV indication will terminate, or transition to the glide slope indication. If enabled, the VNAV indicator will provide vertical guidance as per the approach step-down fixes. It will be replaced by the glide slope at the FAF in enabled. The GFC600 AP will couple with and fly the VNAV, my AP won't.

So you can fly vnav with stepdown fixes, but you need to enter the altitudes of each stepdown?
@MalibuFlyer4 жыл бұрын
Hi Scott. Yes, I need to enter the stepdown altitudes because my autopilot (Bendix/King KFC 150) doesn't support vnav.
@scottfranco19624 жыл бұрын
@@MalibuFlyer Hummm.... but the 750 doesn't fill out the altitudes in any case no? You were hand entering those. I'm curious because the gfc 500 I am installing does do vnav, but it looks like you don't get that even with a 750 unless you hand key in everything.
@s35flyer3 жыл бұрын
So once leaving the hold, I see 2200 in red beside the altitude bug. And the altitude bug says 2200, did that change automatically or did you reset it. Been trying to use vnav and got messed up as the alt. Bug must be less than the vnav gtn settings. Does your automatic match the current target vnav?
@MalibuFlyer3 жыл бұрын
I have to reset my ALT manually as I have an older analog AP.
@s35flyer3 жыл бұрын
@@MalibuFlyer thanks, I didn’t see you do that. I’m new to the g3x, gfc500 and 750xi. I keep forgetting that the alt bug is a limiting factor on vnav, but read the reasons why and I can’t say I disagree. I’m just not used to it having some control over things, I always used as informational only.

Hi, I’m from Argentina. Found your channel and suscribed. Really liked your videos. I installed a GTN 750 in my Lance some months ago... question: can I load the latest software update? Or do I have to take the aircraft to a garmin certified avionics shop for the update? V nav update would be great for me.
@MalibuFlyer6 жыл бұрын
Hello. Unfortunately, you will have to take it to a Garmin dealer to have them do the update. It's simple to do but at least for now, Garmin requires that it be done by a dealer.

Great channel and vids. I just sold my 85 Malibu after 10 yrs of wonderful ownership. $100/hr will just about cover fuel and oil but no more. Maintenance, insurance, hangar, capital ALL extra. If you want to include all of those I would plan on about $250/hr. A Malibu is not an inexpensive ship but there is nothing else that will do what it does for the price.

Richard, were you manually flying the VNAV profile or was the autopilot following it down? Does it work both ways?

Hi. I'm not sure who Richard is but I can say that the AP will only couple to vertical guidance when in APR mode so I have to manually control the descent.
