All you have to do is look at the current draw on the unit, it's listed in the specs. You can do this with any unit. I think the striker 4 is .180ah. Divide your lithium battery's AH rating by .18 and that will tell you how long it will run.
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
That would give you about 55 hours on my 10 amp hour battery...but that would be 100% drained. You do not want to drain them 100%.
@raducrv12 жыл бұрын
producer will specify max current in the specs. for example, on my lowrance elite fs9 it is specified 2A, but when i measured it, only with the sonar function it was around 0.3 A, huge difference. So in the end, as usual, it depends :))
@ReiMonCoH6 жыл бұрын
Ok... but it’s going to draw a lot more if you’re running the transducer and activity using it. But I imagine if it can statically last for 33 hours on a 10ah then it can probably manage an 8-10 hour day with a 5ah

listen, I have been using this fish finder for years ice fishing and kayak fishing, fresh and salt water. My $20 12V 7AH lead acid battery lasts at least 12 hours. Eventually they get corroded or loose their capacity. I fish alot and i have had my current battery for 2 years and it lasted running almost constantly for 12+ hours in 10-20F air temps today. And it will probably be due for replacement soon. I dont think you can justify the high cost of using a lithium battery for this...they dont weigh that much... not sure if it is different for boats and whatnot. Just my 2 cents

@SilverShadow2LWB5 жыл бұрын
Just so that you understand the chemistry of your lithium iron phosphate battery, 10 volts is the absolute minimum voltage you want to take it down to. You will start decreasing the battery life by doing this on a regular basis. All the various lithium chemistrys to not like to be discharged regularly to below 20% capacity nor do they like to be charged to more than 90% full charge. You can prolong the life and the total number of charging cycles by not overworking your battery. They also do not like to be fast charged. An overnight slow charge is healthy for them. I would not recommend that you take SLA batteries down lower than 40% charge or else suffer a decreased life of the battery.

Myself and many other locals close to the 'hotspot' on the lake go to lake Simcoe here in Ontario Canada for whitefish which opens Jan 1st. No ice yet but past experience is most fish outside when word gets out re safe 1st ice. Staying mobile and the 2 fish limit has many catching and releasing many (one guy got 23 one day). So 1st ice will bring guys out in droves going as light as possible (no snowmobiles/atvs but on foot with back packs or pull sleds for gear. That's why it would be great to know battery life since for sure it'll be somewhere under freezing temps on the ice. Oh and BTW I'm getting old and crouching down viewing the finder at ice level is tough so I got my inexpensive old camera tripod with those adjustable legs and made the Garmin attachable to the tripod platform. Such as a usb and 12v banana style clips. My Ryobi batteries are basically free to use... I have a crapped out charger... I only need the buck converters which are 3 for $10.
