This video is really well done. Thank you. I plan to set up my A1i tomorrow. I did see the comment from Shawn Bartley about the reticle being hard to adjust and using micro tuning knobs to fix it. That definitely seems like it could be an issue. I'll give feedback after I set mine up.

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzbin.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

I'm wondering if it will fit in my travel Bow case, which is a Pelican 1745 Air Bow Case (top of the line).Any suggestions, Like can it be taken apart then reassembled?
@GarminRetailTraining4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. It's hard to say 100% if it will fit your specific setup, since various bows have different geometries. To your question about being taken apart and reassembled, the Xero A1/A1i does not have any quick release points. Therefore, if you take it off the bow, it would have to be done with a hex key. If your local bow shop carries the Xero, maybe they would let you see if it will fit with your bow setup and case?

this has been a frustrating experience. I got the primary pin set, verified the mount and straight rails were properly tight, but as soon as I tried to adjust the reticle using the curved rails, the primary pin was nowhere near on at the 20 yards I was sighting in at. worst of all, every time I turn the sight on, it starts me at the beginning of the setup procedure, without me doing anything to reset it. probably shouldve returned this thing before the time was up. gonna try again this weekend to see if I can get it to work

I went up in draw weight and my site is now off...do I need to reset factory settings and recalibrate? Also if I reset factory settings do I also need to install the update on the website again?
@GarminRetailTraining3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. Increasing your draw weight will change the impact of the "mechanical" 20 yard pin. You would reset to factory settings and re-sight the Xero in from the beginning, just as you suspected. Resetting to factory settings should not affect the software version. I hope this helps.

I looking at the sight for a while now. But I’m wondering. I don’t get to shoot that far here at my range. Only out to 25 meters. And since I’m in the city I don’t really have the chance to just go in a field. Is it possible to set it up for now just from like 15-20 meters and continue the set up once I have the chance to shoot further?
@GarminRetailTraining2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. The setup requires you to sight in at 3 ranges to complete the process. What you could do is set your mechanical fixed pin at 15 yards, then pick ranges up to your max range to complete the process so you can still practice. Once you are able to get to a range with longer distances, you can go back and add more pins. I hope this helps.

How does it do with fog or frost? Or a light mist or snow? Inaccurate readings?
@GarminRetailTraining4 жыл бұрын
Great questions! Range finders that emit infrared light all have the same limitations. Heavy moisture in the air can reflect/scatter the light, making it difficult to range. However, since our range finder uses pulses of light in a unique sequence, we are able to filter out errant readings, giving you confidence that the range you get came from the intended target.

So does this mean you will only have pins at 20 30 and 40, but say a deer comes in at 26 yards does it automatically adjust to 26 yards
@GarminRetailTraining3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. The mechanical pin is set at a minimum of 15 yards. In this case, 20 yards was chosen. You then need to sight in at least 3 other distances in 10 yard increments. After that, the Xero will calculate any yardage from the minimum distance you sighted in, to the maximum distance you sighted in. So, if a deer comes out at 26 yards in this example, the Xero would give you a pin for 26 yards. Keep in mind, if you only sight in the Xero for 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards, you will only get ranging solutions up to 51 yards. So, you want to sight it in for the maximum distance you want to shoot. I hope this helps.

When mechanically sighting in the Xero...how much is each slash mark correlate to distance on target? Is each slash mark a 1/4 inch?
@bradyroy88094 жыл бұрын
Depends on distance and draw weight

@@bradyroy8809 That doesn't really make any sense. Distance...it's 20 yards b/c I am still "mechanically" sighting it is...so that is a non-factor But, it should be like a rifle scope. So I shoot perfect then it says is it still accurate and drops the pin a crazy amount
@GarminRetailTraining2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for reaching out with your comment. Based on what you are saying, when sighting in your primary pin after you align the reticle, it asks if the pin is still accurate. You say "yes" and then the pin moves down? Before you move back 10 yards? You could be seeing the ranging reticle dot, then the 20 yard pin. Those could be in two different locations. I would recommend contacting our Product Support team for help with troubleshooting.

why doesn't it ask you if you're shooting too far to the right or left like it does when it asks you if you're shooting too high or low?

I presume because you manually adjust the sight on the rails to fix that - like every other sight. Reason: the LED does not move left or right, only up and down (to account for distance).

Huge Flaw in your bow sight. 1. The Reticle is hard to see and hard to adjust. Cure = Micro turning knobs without need to use hex wrench to completely loosen the reticle fixtures 2. Need to make the reticle bigger so you can see it. 3. You should not have to draw your bow at full length to see the reticle 4. Shooting Range - BIGGEST FLAW. AFTER YOU SHOOT THREE ACCURATE DISTANCES AT 10 YARD INCREMENTS THIS DEVICE MUST BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU 3 MORE DISTANCES BEYOND YOUR FURTHEST CALIBRATED DISTANCE. ALL THE BOW SIGHTS THAT ARE NOT ELECTRONIC DO THIS. WITH ELECTRONICS/COMPUTER THIS DEVICE SHOULD NOT RESTRICT YOU TO THE FARTHEST CALIBRATED RANGE ALREADY SHOT. If you allow for shorter distances inside of a calibrated range you CAN ALLOW FOR GREATER DISTANCES OUTSIDE the LONGEST CALIBRATED RANGE. GREAT BIG FLAW. Please update the software to allow for distances farther than the longest calibrated range. 5. The Device FREEZES if you attempt to range a target outside the calibrated range it will not allow you to range a new target in the the previous set distances. BIG FLAW.

@@shawnbartley7541 I mean, if you want to be able to shoot out to 80, then....actually shooting out to 80 doesn't seem unreasonable. (And I would trust a tested-calibration to have a higher degree of accuracy than an algorithm - theory and practice are not always the same)

So it's not a true red dot sight? That is supremely disappointing. Red dot sights place the target and the reticle on nearly the same optical plane, allowing a single point of focus. That means the consistency of your anchor point would not matter with a red dot, and you wouldn't even need a peep. That would also eliminate some of these steps and virtually guarantee the alignment of your range finder.

How do you measure how far you are for each setting. Do I have to tape measure each one ?
@GarminRetailTraining Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. The built-in range finder measures it for you. Through the setup process, you will be asked to range the next distance with the built-in range finder. It will then display the yardage and ask if you want to use that yardage for your next pin.
