As someone from a tropical country and have a heart disorder, cold showers is both torture and a blessing. On one hand it's heaven when the Sun decides to be particularly an asshole that day, and on the other I can't get under the ice-cold shower head without risking my blood pressure to drop so bad that I physically feel like my soul was taken from ny body.

Do you pay your own water bill? Are you sharing it with roommates? 40min is absurd lol I’ve heard people talk about taking hour long showers til the hot water is gone. Blows my mind that adults do this. Even beyond the cost, it’s just wasteful.

The answer is men/people with short hair. Source: am man with short hair. I do enjoy my 10-20 minute showers and feel fully clean and relaxed, but if time is of the essence I could absolutely pull a Connor and be in and out in a couple minutes. Some men prefer shampoo-conditioner combos, and some only wash their hair every now and then, seems like Connor is one of these men lol.

@@TheFunwichHorror I'm a man too, and when I have long hair it takes me even longer to care for them. Even with short hair, I need to wet my hair, apply the shampoo by gently rubbing my scalp, have it sit in for a few minutes, then wash it out, apply some sort of conditioner or hairwash, let it sit on my hair for a few minutes, then wash it off. That's just the basics of hair care for me. Of course, I'll also wash my body while having products sit on my hair, but that still doesn't allow me to go lower than 10 minutes.

I've had a 1minute showers too, cold water, no soap and shampoo. Sometimes I always timed it so that the shower and drying completed just as the water finish boiling for a hot tea/coffee.

i think connor and joey fail to realise that NOT rincing that soap properly is bad for skin. rincing take me longer than washing most of the time, i HATE that feeling of soapy skin as well.

I've been taking cold showers for months and yeah you get used to it pretty quickly. For example in 1 week you can go from 30°C to 13°C. After that you get more and more comfortable with minimum shower temperature (13°C).

Navy showers, where you do an initial quick rinse, then you soap/shampoo up, then rinse afterwards pretty quickly. Protip: if you want to save yourself some water fill up a reliable bucket and use that for the rinse afterwards.

When I saw recommendations on taking 2 minute showers, I was wondering why should we extend the duration so much. If you take a 15 minutes shower, is the water running all the time or just for 1 - 2 minutes? I mean, it doesn't take long to get you wet, or to rinse the soap off (unless you have long hair).

I usually take 30 min showers but I only run the water when I need to wet my body or rinse the soap, since it would be wasted water otherwise.

I used to travel for work a lot. Like, different town every week for years. I lived out of a suitcase. My colleague was really anal about his showers. The first thing he'd do when we got to a new hotel, is pull out his toolbox, take off the showerhead, and drill out the flow limiter.

Why would you take that long in a shower? I'm similar with Connor; I turn on the shower, go in and rinse, then shampoo thoroughly & wash off. Just start telling Garnt to arrive earlier. If episode starts at 8:30 then tell him to come by 8:20.

Planning and execution systems are usually deeply dysfunctional in those with ADHD. That plus symptoms like time blindness means that one doesn't have to try to be different, different is just why you are and it kinda sucks sometimes.
