UK person here One time we had a queen wasp or hornet in our house that was about 3 inches and my dad fucking hates wasps so much he goes into a different room. The thing is this queen was in his office and he had important work to be getting on with. I suggested a jar with some jam and water in it to try and lure it into the jar and drowning it. After 5 mins nothing happened so what I ended up doing was (and I wasn't wearing shoes while doing this) grabbing a tea towel, slowly make my way over to it then tossed it onto the queen then stamped on it a few times. My dad was peering in from the garden and he was yelling at me to put the whole thing (towel included) into some hot water and bleach because supposedly when a queen dies it releases a hormone to bring in wasps from the general area. I did that but as I was about to plop it into the water the remains of the queen fell out of the towel causing my dad to scream like a little girl. Felt like such a chad for the rest of the day. This reminds me of my experience fighting with insects, but with flies. There was once a swarm of flies that somehow got into my house and started multiplying. Imagine going to your kitchen and see 15 flies resting on the light above you. That was the moment my long battle began. I'd just turn off all lights other than the one in kitchen, stay in the kitchen with a cardboard on my hand, and slam every single f*cker in sight until there's no one left. I could literally kill 100 flies per day (yes I counted), but somehow they just KEPT COMING BACK the next day! I had to repeat this 30-60 minutes process for over one whole freaking week, until I finally got rid of ALL of them. And then I realized there's something called bug zappers.

I rmb watching a show where they show cockroaches to Japanese who lives in different region. Tokyo girls just scream and ran away. Hokkaido girls never seen a cockroach before and are very curious about it cause Hokkaido is too cold. So to escape from this nightmare you might need to move to Hokkaido. Also I'm 200% sure cockroaches knows when you're looking at it. I was staring at a "dead" cockroach(belly-up) for a few minutes, looked away for like 3 seconds and it's gone. I have a similar story. My mom goes on hikes all the time and a couple of summers ago she went on one and she and the dogs ended up covered with ticks. She thought she got them all off and the next day my mom, my brother, and I went to Kohls to get my brother clothes for graduation because he only wears video game t-shirts and jeans. So, we finally manage to get him to agree to try on some clothes that he deems plain enough and while we're waiting my mother finds a tick on the back of her neck. She yanks it off and tries to crush it under her foot but kohls has this really short carpet and ticks are super small and tough so even after she grinds it as hard as she can into the carpet it starts crawling again. I'm mildly embarrassed and amused because my mother is trying to kill a tick in the middle of a department store but I figure its over the second time she steps on it. Then it starts moving again. We both start laughing because its absurd then my mother gets out her keys and starts trying saw it or something. I start covering my face and snickering because it would look so weird to someone who didn't know what was going on. Finally, she's satisfied and we got on with our day. We didn't tell my brother until we left the store because he would have been mortified.
