I definitely agree that Garou wins however we could use a higher end for Suiryu in power and speed. Suiryu is explicitly stated to be stronger than Bakuzan, who was himself stated the strongest competitor in the tournament, putting him above a prior Garou and more importantly a younger Bang. Now Bang could have simply held back as it's very much in his character to do so against human beings rather than monsters as he could have easily ripped Garou's head off when he and Bang got to him but didn't. But that's Suiryu's highest scaling. And going off current webcomic, an unmotivated Garou was fighting equally with a limit breaking Suiryu. No monster powers, no nada. Just hand to hand only, and Garou was only about half power during the fight since he wanted nothing to do with it.

I always thought this matchup was a little shaky as Garou doesn't have a consistent power level (though unless you're scaling him at where he was at the very start of season 2 he will win every time) but that made me wonder, Garou ends up getting so strong because he keeps pushing himself throughout the entire series, if Saitama wasn't around to stop him he would have never stopped, but Suiryu is naturally gifted, he says himself that he hasn't even trained in years and he's still on the level of Tank Top Master or Puri Puri, if that's how strong he is without even trying, what would happen if he pushed himself? There's obviously no way to say how this would play out, but it's fun to think about

@@allencastro9344 first off, while suiryu did train before reaching his current status, its shown that he never really took it too seriously ever since he was a kid and likely end early on, while garoru was heavily motivated and trained by an S-class hero, and he didn't instantly reach S-class strength, as he was hero hunting, and hero hunting does count as training since he's gaining more experience, but even so, if garou was as outmatched as suiryu was and beaten down that quickly then he'd be in the same situation no matter his evolution.

Remember to replicate Garou in real life all you have to do is: Go Professional in MMA fighting and Semi - Master 7 martial Arts. Easily adapt to other Professional level martial arts. Fight so hard that you faint more than 3 times. Damage your ACL, Rotator Cuff, bones, and skin through intense battles but heal them as twice as fast due to God like genetics. Each break will heal faster. Get heavily assaulted by gangs. Get brutally beat up by two 9th degree black belt masters in martial arts. Get curbstomped by some bald guy. Summon a real life Demonic demon and fight them. Get almost killed only to sleep through it and wake up 20x stronger and more durable. More healing. Walk on the streets to save some ugly kid from a pedo. Kill the demon who kidnapped that kid. (The summoned demon from earlier) Fight off a very heavily strong bear and gorilla over 2000 pounds pretty easily.

Very well-made video and analysis. Obviously, later forms of Garou beat Suiryu easily, but an early Hero Hunter Garou would be a fun matchup. It would probably start off competitive, but Garou would eventually finish playing and bantering with Suiryu and get serious, winning mid diff. He might catch some hard shots and lose on an exchange or two, but he’d absolutely win going all-out. He might even copy Suiryu’s strongest attack as a finishing move just to illustrate the gap in their abilities. I hope that they wind up as friends/rivals at some point in the series.

A lot of the misconceptiom behinf threat levels comes from people brlieving they are a straight powerscaling technique, which they arent. They take into account other aspects aside from power, such as aggressiveness, destructive capability and so on. They also come from the lens of the Hero Association who dont always have the full picture of whoever theyre assigning a threat level too. It is also occasionally alluded to that people focus on threat levels too much as a method of judging power. This is done IN UNIVERSE too, once by Garou who tells the three demon level monster who confront him in the MA hideout that they "put too much stock" in them.

one of the major issues with powerscaling garou is that his power is scaling up the entire time his arc is going. So when are you comparing suiryu to? suiryu obviously doesn't hold a candle to fully amped up garou, but before starting his monster arc garou gets destroyed by watchdog man who is only the rank 12 s class hero. you reference his growth and adaptability as a strength that would carry him is this fight, but there's no reason to believe he has that outside of his mosterization arc. but if he always had that he would be on par with bang before the arc started.

valid arguments, however, I still do think the threat levels are end all be all, simply because writing characters can be inconsistent, depending what the author wants the vibe to be. Whether it be an epic battle, or an easy one, are all factors that the author would decide, without necessiraly taking into account past battles that are (somewhat) irrelevant, as these battles are usually used to hype-up, or calm-down the vibe and expectations from said characters. TLDR: Threat levels has the final say, because the author purposed it that way. EDIT: But yes, i still agree with the final verdict that garou claps suiryu low-diff.

Your not using common sense in a lot of your scaling. You say people use threat levels to determine power using kombu infinity and the crows, yet you fail to say how it’s obvious kombu is a demons based on threats and the occasional incorrect threat level id for monsters who the HA haven’t shown enough knowledge on. kombu is obvious demon and crows are obviously demon while together. You also fail to understand how AP and durability and basically every stat usually go down after being brutally beat up. We see suiryu CASUALLY oneshot snek, max and stay even with choze, when he uses full effort hes able to basically oneshot him. The crows only had the upper hand obviously cause he was beat down badly. Just like the hero team only could keep up with garou cause he was beat down badly. Fights aren’t just AP and speed, there lots of variables that “good” power scalers can’t seem to wrap their head around. You also fail to realize technique or skill is a huge part of the power scaling in opm. Skill allows opponents to hit much harder than their stats would allow. Which is a reason garous durability is low compared to his ap. Also garous skill would be less useful against another skilled opponent like suiryu. But don’t get me wrong garou wins. But suiryu would do better than metal bad on the fact he has a more skilled fighting style then metal bat and higher str then garou.

Damn, does that work for 3 way? Goketsu holding back against an opponent he was unwilling to kill as a martial artist means, those atks were STILL on the lvl of high demon - low dragon. The guy fought against Saitama and technically won prior to only being unable to defeat two dragon lvl monsters in a worn-out state. One of them even admitting being envious and unable to deliver such low lvl atks as explicit bias is used as a preventative measure. Still gets injured by the very individual whom he was too busy torturing. I understand very well Garou's experiences but Genos was actually gonna kill him if Bang didn't step in. Garou beating down the A-class heroes is still one of the best feats in the series but what do you think that ova means with Garou and Suiryu vs each other? It meant under the right setting, they could potentially best each other. Thus it isn't necessarily exclusive to one dominating the other. Infact, it was just revealed Suiryu has knowledge of Bang's martial arts form.. In otherwords, POSSIBLY means on how to deal with it too. I've been saying for the longest the dude has been getting lowballed for this battle & lowest behold - knowing is half the battle. You factor in the speed, strength, technique and durability of Suiryu w/some adaptability vs Garou's Speed, strength, adaptability, durability & technique... It should be one hell of a fight. Remember just how badly he was beating down Metal Bat, Metal Bat (my favorite hero) couldn't even get one hit against this guy Garou & just when he was about to, fights over. Ofc Sonic hasn't had as many fights as Garou [on paper] but to say he wouldn't stand a chance or will even just flatout lose ALL THE WAY UP to Red Garou is wrong through and through! Those speed clones are so awesome Flashy Flash in all his glory hadn't once thought to use them before on his own & proceeded to get scolded by Sonic for copying them mid-fight against other ninja when Sonic indeed challenged him 1st, landed a significant blow and blocked/dodged final ougi - flashy kicks.

imo garou is stronger because he worked harder but suiryu has much more potential as he basically stopped training and he’s that powerful I put suiryu around low s class as he’s stronger than deep sea king and by extension puri puri
