I don't have the 250, but I'm a new detectorist with a 300, and I found this video tremendously helpful! I have only been out four or five times, and found all the tones confusing. Now I understand a little more about what might be causing the sounds. Thank you!

Wow! Certainly a massive improvement that Garrett have taken into consideration of mind whilst developing the new ace series models! depth and recovery speed is just as good as detectors that cost 3 times its price!

fantastic tutorial .. i have a 250 .. upgraded to a minelab safari .. .. i literally tonight ordered a nel hunter coil for the 250 .. i cant get my head round the minelab,, to much going on.. i understand 250 a lot more .. so i downgraded to an upgraded down grade ,, lol.. thanks ,,

I've a ace 400 and I'm waiting on receiving my new coil tommo Nell tornado. I spoke to the bloke at the shop and he said my 400 with that coil is better than thectrx3030 how is this possible when that's a 2 grand machine and mine 400 odd quid.

The larger coil on the 300i had the advantage in distance test and there is many standard air tests on the 250 as its the biggest selling metal detector out there. The others tests are relevant 👍

Very informative video Zigg.😀 A dramatic improvement in performance over the Ace 250. I'd like to see a test on small gold with the iron audio switched on. maybe a quarter stater or even a small gold ear stud.

Just thought I'd point out that the 300 and 300i doesn't have iron audio as a feature you mentioned that you were turning the iron audio off well it doesn't have that you need to get the 400 or 400i if you want that or just get an AT-pro

Hi Ziggy - Great test and comparison between the Ace 250 & Ace 300i, there does appear to be a marked improvement. Could you tell me the weight of the new 7x10 coil and does it make the detector feel nose heavy.

Very interesting. I have the 400i but also the Deus. I am thinking of getting the new Quest Q40 so that I have 2 very light wireless machines for when my wife comes detecting, but I don't know if the performance of the Deteknix machines stands up to the 400i. +ziggyjinx Love your video. So, i 've just acquired one of these. I'm new to this but my air tests never got beyond 6-7 inches max - With a range of coinage from UK and Europe. All modern except a Georgian coin i happen to have. Is there an obvious thing i may be doing wrong? Bit underwhelmed with my air test versus yours...

Might be a coil issue, with the same coinage I used you should get the same air test results, little odd and worth asking on a forum for other users results and then contact your supplier 👍

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately i don't have access to the same coins as yourself. I just used a range of modern denominations UK and Euros/ cents. Also a bag of copper items and random jewellery of various sizes. The oldest being the Georgian "Bullhead"? I think that's what its called anyways. Anything really to see if it was seeing as far as in your video :)

I have the Ace 350...works well, but my friends AT pro finds ALOT more goodies!..That said, I JUST got the 5x8 coil, Only went once with it, found almost nothing. But I dug very few holes, the 5x8 coil seems to sound off alot less

It has gains in the performance but depends if your doing ok with your Ace250, if so then hold fire... If your happy don't change 👍

Also the Ace250 is a very cheap capable machine with limitations like all but especially for the price it's ok. But my vote goes to the Ace300 for sound alone.

hi i just bought the 250 had it out 3 times up to now on my second trip out i got a high tone signal it said 6 inch deep dug the 6 inch put the detector over the hole reading still 6 inches dug down still getting a tone after 2 ft deep still getting a tone but still didnt find the item, i was on all mettal mode as the book say start on that it was so frustraighting but on the up side later that day i found my first 2p coin 1968 happy days.

@@madformodz7252 I did i use the gold setting and brought the sensitivity down a notch it’s a cracking detector I was out detecting with a bloke that had a minelab over £700 worth of machine I found more than he did and I found a silver coin too.

Does anyone no why the ace 150 and 250 have gone up in price, I bought the ace 150 from regtons I think there called for £130 in 2013 and the ace 250 was £178 and they been the same price until just before Christmas, I thought they may of come down in price in the new year

250 are much easier to use and do the same job apart from its more money plz keep up your work on sales on upgrades but trust me I’ve been out with lads with the 300i and they have walked over stuff I’ve picked up behind them with my 250 I’ve used for the last 5 years it’s just getting your head around you’re machine not sitting on a floor doing useless testing ✌🏻

Yes, they just took of the i from the name, but are exact same metal detectors. Before 200i, 300i and 400i, now 200, 300 and 400.
