Just some of the parts fitted to the Old Girl '79. Having now over 305,000kms on the odometer it was time to give the cruiser some (more) love.
The short video identifies prior and post parts replacement regimen. Why? Well, I've already said it, but let's get serious, prevention is better than cure.
The injectors, whilst still in spec, were noisy (well they were pushed pretty hard with the tune). Good time to replace the injector lines as well and the turbo. I had noticed small fluctuations in boost (when under heavy load) exceeding the tune spec of 20-22 psi.
Radiator, well, that's a different story really. It came down to either replacing it with the PWR or fitting a top mount intercooler. The later was never an option, for me. Why, most of you would have guessed by now, but I'm not going to say it, but, I will release another video in the future.
Details below of the parts fitted:
#garrettturbo Powermax GTV2359V Gen 2 (good for 25 psi)
#fatz High Flow Intake & Modified Engine Mount to suit standard air box
Toyota Valve Cover Set
Toyota top and bottom radiator hoses
Toyota radiator over flow tank hoses
Toyota injector/fuel pump/fuel rail high pressure lines supplied by #cheapertdieselsparesaustralia
Toyota pre-mix coolant (15 litres)
#ryco air filer, main and secondary fuel filters
#pwr radiator
#denso injectors supplied by #cheapertdieselsparesaustralia
Workshop #kendaysautomotiveservices
I'm heading, some of you. Yes, I could have done quite a bit of this work for sure. But, if you have been following me you will know my left knee is only 7 weeks young (at date of publishing this video). I was not going to crawl under, over or about the cruiser cause I need to train my new knee a bit.
