Plans the maneuver so as to enter a left or right pattern, 600 to 1,000 feet AGL at an appropriate distance from the selected reference area, 45° to the downwind leg.

Well... you cut/pasted the PTS for *Rectangular Course*, and I was demonstrating *S-Turns* in the video; nothing about "left/right pattern, 45-degree downwind", etc. for S-Turns in the PTS... FAA's Airplane Flying Handbook says "rectangular course can be entered from any direction" (p. 6-5). No DPE is going to require you to fly a big 5-mile circuit just to get on the other side of your course so you can begin downwind. As long as you begin with a shallow bank (verbalize this), you can start upwind.

+Roy R I truly hope youre not a pilot. There is nothing more dangerous in aviation than a guy who talks and doesn't know what hes talking about.

I'm confused. I read that it's radius of turn that increase with speed
@clayton4115
@clayton4115 3 ай бұрын
that's correct so that is why you increase the rate of turn to not "over turn" when you have a tailwind

What altitude for ground reference maneuvers??? DPE would have failed you! :)

You of course know that the Altimeter displays MSL, not AGL, right? Terrain near I-8 in Alpine is 1,500' MSL, so my altitude of 2,200' MSL is right within the 600-1,000' AGL PTS requirement.

+Garry Wing why do you show that gps starting the maneuver at 2390' and you say you roll wings level at 2200'
@GarryWing

+Brad Norton You use the _altimeter_ for altitude indications in an airplane, not the _GPS_. I won't get into how the GPS calculates heights using an ellipsoid and USGS map elevations... but you can Google it... (Note at 3:42 the altimeter shows 2,200' and the GPS shows 2,580' *D'OH!*)
