I think people apply their hot oil treatments to dry hair so the oil can fully penetrate. Because oil and water don't mix, I feel like the oil would just sit on top of your hair and scalp. Just my theory... btw you have beautiful hair :)
@GARSHELL3 жыл бұрын
thanks girly 💖 and thats just what works for me
@gabriellamarie27323 жыл бұрын
Oil and water aren’t supposed to mix if the oil u have is a sealant. Think of it as a cup of water and you have oil the oil sits on top the same way it does in your hair so it keeps the water aka (moisture) in. Coconut oil is a moisturizing oil so it’s for moisture but Jbco is a oil for sealing in moisture so it’s not supposed to mix. But for my hair I just use water and Jbco because it keeps my hair moisturized. But some oils that are moisturizers don’t work for me because they dry my hair out so I’ll be sticking to Jbco, so not all oils will work for everyone so it’s best to find stuff that works for your hair. Now oil does eventually evaporate but I found that when I use water and the jbco together it drys together so I can use it daily for moisture
@loveydoveywomanH203 жыл бұрын
@@GARSHELL ya the oil just kinda just sits on top of the hair instead. I think that’s why u had a bit of a cast while twisting but I’m pretty sure the result is still fine. The heated cap was such a power move ✨

There's something that I want to say about oils. they do not only seal moisture but the also nourish you hair strand and making a hot oil treatment will protect them from hygral fatigue, that is why it's better to use only oils , that my opinion 🙈🥰
@GARSHELL3 жыл бұрын
i understand that, as long as it works for you 😊
@HereDiianas3 жыл бұрын
Hi actually hair is dead so it's not being nourished per say but yes penetrating oils like coconut minimize "hydral fatigue" which allows hair cuticles to remain flat hence the hair gets less damage during and after the shampoo process. It acts as a conditioner but from the inside while a conditioner protects cuticles from the outside by coating hair until next shampoo.

2:40 Hot oil treatment :coconut oil virgin olive oil,melaleuca oil and heating it over broiling water (keep in mind if boiling use metal utensils and a oven mitt) 4:29 Applying oils: Dampen hair & work oils into scalp (massage) seal the ends of hair, lightly detangle along the way 5:59 Protective styling: style hair in protective hairstyles that still locks in moisture. (Preferably two strand twist) wear washing cap ( plastic cap) as well as a bonnet to let moisture marinate into your hair. (Using more heat is probably optional ) leave on head for 30 minutes 7:23 Rinse what remains Shampoo ( starts from roots please🥺) condition hair (usually I like to not rinse it all the way completely out) Lastly don’t forget leave in conditioner and oils but don’t be too heavy handed with them
