​@@mr.nothappy301 Plenty of people are criticising the art for it's merits (or lack thereof), I prefer to try and separate art from artist but the entire situation smacks of a cynical and fairly transparent attempt to ride on the coat tails of much greater products while extracting as much money from the product as they can with merchandising and essentially employing the first game as a loss-leader to hook customers in to buy the second, whether this is coincidence or by design I cannot tell you; they don't seem to be very open to dialogue regarding their work. I will say though one of the best ways to access someone's wallet is via their children; they don't have the experience or critical thinking ability to effectively discern a cheap knock-off from the real deal and an enormous market of bootleg toys and game merchandise exists to exploit this. Surely you've seen the tide of fidget spinners come and go, and the cheap Among Us and Poppy Playtime dolls in over-priced tourist traps, shady street stalls and dying video game store branches. Whether it is satire or not I genuinely cannot identify, perhaps it's so close to the material it's become the thing it is attempting to satirise. Either way, they're a couple of inexperienced kids putting out a very rough product that indicates their inexperience with the medium, and while it was fine when they were offering it for free- many people do this with their early (and some their not so early) works to gain valuable field experience to polish their craft, but the moment a price tag was placed on Garten of Banban II it becomes open to criticism in a way free products are not, and the shield of them being young, dumb and inexperienced producing amateur video games is lost. If the hike in price from nothing to $6 is not met with a sufficiently compensatory increase in quality and/or content then avoiding comparison between the free and price tagged product becomes impossible- why buy the second game at all when it's barely better than the first? The amateurish voice acting, stilted writing and unoptimised models with off-the-shelf animation are quaint, even charming when I pay nothing, but it is not something I would fork out even $6 for. I see myself in these two lads, I know what it's like being in that position- wanting to take the hobby to the professional level. But making a quality video game is *really* hard and the bar is set very high even for amateur works, but after weeks of polishing a select piece up and pushing myself to find people to provide thoughts and criticism on it, and after a lot of psyching myself up when the time came to make the steam page and upload it I reflected on the question "Would I buy this?" and the answer was a stone-cold no. My writing was just positively wretched and I didn't resolve to find someone to write for me. I put my tools down and closed the unity editor for the last time and haven't opened them since. I've considered making cynical cash-grab games to bolster my income but frankly I don't agree with the ethics of making cheap trash.

That locked texture on the bridge hurts my 3D artist soul... It's not even that hard to fix, like a single broad google search explains how to fix it in both Unity and Unreal. Basically the texture is using world space cords rather than object cords when mapping the texture. This is fine if the object is unmoving, and preferred in such a case as it is more efficient to render, it breaks when the object moves though as the renderer is placing the texture onto the geometry based on where it is in the world, not on the object itself. This is LITERLY a single option box. My best guess is they are using the same material for both the static floor and the bridge and just left it on (or they are just not even aware of it in the first place).

The one thing I'll give this game is that it uses RGB sliders for the drone customization instead of HSL with a too-small hue slider. That's frankly one of my pet peeves. Of course, that's probably mostly so they didn't have to put the bare minimum in and colour the sliders, and if you don't know what RGB is good luck, and the UI is the blandest, most default default UI I've ever seen, but credit where credit is due- they managed to make something that's almost reaching for competent, as opposed to bad.

For a while I didn't understand why everyone was hating on the first Banban because to me it was *so obviously* a parody making fun of the simplicity of mascot horror. Absolutely nothing about it asks to be taken seriously, and it had all the usual makings of a low-effort fart game made by otherwise compotent people. Then I found that there was a whole catalogued dev process on TikTok, and then this sequel, and that it apparently.... isn't?? a parody??? Which I still genuinely cannot wrap my head around. Like I cannot fathom how you make a game like this, take it *seriously*, and then *charge $7????*
