Garth did a free live concert in Central Park. Some people said he’d wouldn’t get too many people to come because New York didn’t do country. They say over 2 million showed up. Amazing concert.

My husband and two sons (teenagers at the time) braved the huge crowd and attended the concert ... me ... I watched it on TV from the comfort of home. I saw Garth's every move on the stage, they, on the other hand, saw little dots from where they were perched. But they were glad that they had gone, they said it was great being in that huge crowd that gathered together with the same purpose... to enjoy Garth's music! 🗽🎵🎶🎙🎤🎸🎶🎶🎵

Hello there - George Strait and Barth Brooks both have been extremely successful in country music. George Strait does have the "Nickname" King Strait - so as for which of these 2 artist - George or Garth as being the best selling Country Artist they would probably be very close to each artist. As a side note - the best selling Country group of all time is Alabama by a Country mile over all others. I love all of these artist and almost all country artist from the earliest days up to today's. From what I have read and heard - Elvis has the most total Diamond certified with 40 - if that's not the case please let me know.

Garth is the number 1 selling solo artist of all time and only 1 group is above him, those guys from Liverpool, The Beatles. His albums are what makes him so special. So good! I love me some Garth! He's the reason I listened to country throughout the 90s and early 2000s. He's best in a large auditorium where he can let loose. Garth never left his heyday. He took a break of several years to co-parent his kids, but when he came back he still sells out stadiums in minutes. I may or may not have stood in line for tickets for hours back in the day on multiple occasions and hovered over Ticketmaster waiting for 10:00 a.m. in the more recent past. Lol. There is absolutely nothing like the electricity and energy at a Garth concert! Any Garth you can find on KZbin is gold - go for it before it gets pulled down. But "Ain't Goin' Down Til The Sun Comes Up" is so much fun and high energy if you ever find that! Here's some info on his status as a recording artist: "Brooks is one of the world's best-selling music artists, having sold more than 170 million records. As of 2020, according to the RIAA, he is the best-selling solo albums artist in the United States with 156 million domestic units sold, ahead of Elvis Presley, and is second only to the Beatles in total album sales overall." ~ Wikipedia

Early Garth, very early I believe. I just absolutely adore this song. Already got goosebumps. Garth Brooks is another legend that can and does put on one hell of a damn show. There is also a still confusing part where he switched genres and names becoming I believe "Chris Gaines" we all have hiccups so I try not to hold it against him, but it was just intensely weird. Every time he comes to TX we try and get tickets but they literally sell out in minutes.
