Fantastic film again. Its great a description of how these things go together, layman's terms. Easy to understand. Thank you 😊. 👍 Half way through now.

Awesome to see Millie back on the channel. I've been wanting to see what you are going to with the transmission. Also love the two T-shirts you send me. Wear them all the time. Had a lot of people asking me about them, so I say go take a look at your KZbin channel.

Enjoyed seeing you tackle that fordamatic. Brought back memories of when I pulled and rebuilt my Falcons tranny. The hardest part was getting it in and out of the car up on ramps! There is a metal ring that I broke installing the primary sun gear shaft because I installed in the wrong sequence. It came with the kit but I was able to reuse the original as it showed no wear. Be careful of that if you haven't got that far yet. It's been 35 years ago but I remember that well! Good luck😊

Use your engine stand to mount that transmission. Replace both bands and the band actuator should move smoothly. 70s and 80s worked on a boatload of automatic transmissions. Chrysler transmissions were my fav, GMs were easy also, fords could be a pain but doable. Main rule of the tranny, cleanliness, everything in proper order, and respect the springs in some of them or you’ll get a chest thumping of preload. 😊

If it was a heavy one I would. I like being able to just toss it around while working on it.

Good haul on the tools now I know bands are steel and not rubber always thought they were above my skill level had friends that could rebuild trans and engine I just liked working on them went to a friends to have him install a 280 cam in my 400 sb 70 chevelle made me do it all while he supervised surprised the hell out of me when it cranked and ran total break in with no problem I believe I could rebuild an engine with his help good video enjoyed

Well that rust stuff seems to work rather well I thought. As for the gearbox. At least you've worked out what the fault is, fair play to you fella. Very interesting to see how it goes together. 👍

I'm a big fan of evaporust. Use it all the time for restoring rusty stuff. I use wd 40 after the rinse, since the wd stands for water displacement. The only down side is high carbon tool steel turns black, but doesn't affect the strength of the tools themselves. I've been a big fan of it for a while. You be amazed the things you can do with it. Restored some old seat sliders from a 65 mustang that were seized. Got them working again. It's really good stuff.

I don’t envy you on the trailer clean out. Had a similar situation years ago. My buddy and I had a junk hauling/clean out business. Was call by a realtor to clear out an apartment where the tenant passed away. Same thing ,wasn’t found for over a week and was mid summer. No fun at all.

For the wheel balancing… I just loaded up my wife’s F250’s tires with BBs. I recently put a set of 19.5” x 7.5” wheels with some 225/70/19.5 tires. I had to use quite a bit (these are considerably heavier than passenger car tires), but it’s glass smooth on the highway. I did this before with airsoft BBs when I put 19.5s on my 3/4T Yukon XL, just had to use a lot more. I tried Equal, it works, just more $$. BBs are cheap and effective.
@Stephens_offroad_and5 ай бұрын
Warped Perception has a video on "balance beads," what you're doing with BBs but under a marketable name, and he even put a camera inside the tire to show what they're doing.

Will definitely be doing that on the new one. We just replaced the clutch on this a few months ago, so we know that's ok.

If you haven't already, you might want to look into getting an ozone generator. They are good at getting foul aromas out of enclosed spaces - cars, campers, houses, etc. That's what rental car companies use if a car has been smoked in. We've used ours for everything from dead rodents that we couldn't find or remove to books that were stored in moldy basements to the moldy basements themselves.

We did in fact borrow one to use for that purpose.

Best way to save the automatic transmissions in the Cummins Dodge Rams is to drop pan and adjust both internal and external band adjustments every 20-30K and add new fluid. I've seen over 300,000K out of the automatics when that is done.
