Such a beautiful song in tribute to his wife she was 37 an suffered from depression an migraines if ya read about it she sent him to kitchen for a drink an he heard the gun shot..my friend got me listening to his music after my wife suffered from same thing an was same age.. I found her in her car she had shot herself in tha chest. Words couldn't help me I went thru some very dark months after that but thanks to friends an my daughter I survived it.. I have a beautiful girlfriend now but her suicide taught me what life is truly about an that's being with your family an those you love nothing else matters except your loved ones... Thank you Gary for your beautiful music to help sooth my soul when memories come flooding back in of that awful morning when I found her ..words can't express tha pain suicide causes...

I'm usually the guy who finds comments to beak and whatnot, I just can't stand some whiny little school kids complaining their lives are so bad because their girlfriend of 2 months broke up with them and life is just the absolute OMG WORST! It makes me sick that these little pukes don't understand what real problems are. But you my friend, your story got pulling on my heart strings and I wish you nothing but the best in your life's future endeavours. It sounds like you have found happiness again and I am very glad of that. Hopefully you can take some solace in the fact that a random guy from Canada is pulling for you, there are still people who care.

I was with an amazing woman for 4 years. Longest and last I thought I ever had. I saved for months and picked a ring to propose on Easter. She left exactly 2 weeks before it. And it was my fault. All of it. It took me a long time to get past the addictions that caused all of the troubles and get better from it. Cut to years later. I have an amazing wife and life. A home to own. I love my wife with every fiber of my being; and she has our child in the works. But every time I hear this song; I always think of that girl. She's doing great in life. Great voice, and when I found out the story behind why he remade it, i was torn up. I can't imagine going through something like that. Prayers for his wife and him. I learned how to play the song on guitar and I'm going to play and sing it for my girlfriend. We are going through some rough patches and it'll probably do more harm than good with my voice, lol. I didn't know Vertical Horizon wrote this. I've always liked a lot of their songs but never really knew who they were or much about them but do now. I am also now giving country music a chance and I'm definitely a huge Gary Allan fan as of recent all because of one song and the diffent meanings it can hold for different people. Stay strong Gary and I pray that your wife is welcomed into the Gates of Heaven. Peace.

I just found out She's gone to heaven a couple days ago. I am saddened I tried to check on her many times over the last 11 years but never stopped to say hi except once a few months ago but she was not home. Now she's gone and I am heartbroken to learn I will never see her again except in my memories and God willing in heaven 🙏 RIP Cathy! Your Always on my mind! The Best I Ever Had!

Great song by Gary Allen. My 13 yrd old daughter asked me today who are my all time favorite artists.. I quickly mentioned Gary Allen as one- she quickly agreed- this happened while we were listening to Gary's latest "unfiltered". plus she got to see Gary at Busch Gardens in Tampa a few years ago and is a big fan. My friend killed himself two months ago. This song fits perfectly. There's just so many unanswered questions, so much guilt, so much grief, so much....everything. And the one person you want here to help you deal is the one who isn't here. And he'll never be here ever again. I just want to tell him I love him one more time. And I miss him. It just isn't fair.
@CAoffRoading8 жыл бұрын
god that hurts just reading that. I am so sorry. keep the good times close to heart and he will never be truly gone and always with you.

Richard Adrian it's like the whole world shatters, like even breathing is too hard, too much effort. And you feel like it's so noticeable that he's gone, like everyone on earth should notice this, this emptiness he left, but people just go on, not even realizing he's gone, and it's hard to picture being like them again, being able to live without this constant reminder your best friend isn't there. People who were so much less than him get to keep going and he doesn't.
