Had Gary in my Uber a few weeks ago. He`s a really nice, but pretty quiet guy. Friendly enough. His wife, if that`s who was with him, was absolutely gorgeous...and very sweet. It was an honor to take him from his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, to the Nashville airport. he`s totally underrated, as far as I`m concerned...and even though he`s fought a lot of personal demons, he`s still a great guy, and an awesome, very talented singer.

When I got sober in 2016, my first full day of sobriety I was driving around in North Carolina and this song came on. I needed a song that would help, and this was it. I cannot say I was a fan of country music, nor did I know who Gary Allan was at the time. If I continue on the path One Day At A Time, I will celebrate 6 years sober in November. I listen to this song still, and there have been days lately where it has played in a loop over and over. I think of how I felt on November 6, 2016 and my thought process is, that no matter how bad life is, it is not worth picking a drink up over. Thank you Gary!👍

I’m at a point in my life where I’ve been dealing with a severe depression for a couple years. I’ve put in a lot of work to heal and I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I heard this song on shuffle on my phone the other day after not hearing it for a long time and felt like it was a sign that things are finally getting better for me. I parked my car at the grocery store and while I was walking up to the doors, it started playing on the loud speakers in front of the store. I truly do feel like my storm is finally running out of rain. To anyone listening to this and trying to find hope, don’t give up. It can’t rain forever.

Its a battle in life each substance must be practiced with the intent of respect or caution. Even those concepts which could damage our lives have also been what pulled us through. So, the thing and I am still learning is to understand or try to. It is so hard to contact the difficulty behind where we are in this world or what world one is in. Struggle is eternal and this tragedy allows to welcome suffering.

Everyone that's really feeling hopeless, don't ever, ever, ever give up. I know how it feels to go through pain. A lot of it. I was depressed for five years. It got better. My storm ran out of rain. Don't ever let the time it takes to get better deter you. It's YOUR life, and you can fight it. You can, I know it. Everyone has that power to fight their demons. You can do it! I believe in you :)

Kade Hatten you are absolutely correct I had major storms in my life becoming a Christian because I was so evil. It did end and now I have been saved and none of the past can touch me. I have had my share of demons and devil. But what got me through the storm was love. And patience helps as well but thank you for your kind words and I pray you may help someone find peace in the storms and conquer their demons peace be with you!! God bless!! Thank you!

I had this song on an old phone that just decided to stop working. I believe God his hand in this. It took me a few months to find this song. It's such an important song and I have already shared it with a few pastor's at my church. I know a few who are having difficulties with depression, this song and a few others will set them free.

This was my ex husband and my song! Crazy how songs can bring you to a old place in your life. Glad I have made it through things in my life that I thought I couldn't get through. God is good! He is still feeling the burn of what he has done and still missing what he had.

My mother showed me this song told me to listen to it so I just did today. I’m depressed and miserable. Don’t know why it’s just one of those things where your just so lonely that you just get sad. Don’t know where I’m headed in life. It’s scary I’m 21 with no direction. Some call it a blessing and it can be but I just get so sad. But everything will be ok.

Even though he may never see this I remember when my dad told me when he came up north from Louisiana and told my sister and i that he had cancer. I was only ten and i am thirteen now. Even though he told us he would only have 3 months left to live, I am thankful to GOD that he is still alive. If any of my parents dies, i can tell you right now that i wouldn't be here right now. Thanks Gary Allen for making a song that is soooo true.

boy, this song was my battle cry in 2013 as that was the worst year of my life. I was homeless 3 times that year, in jail 3 times, lost everything I had and just all kinds of other bullshit. however I weathered the storm of that year and about the first half of 2014 too. after that the clouds of that storm parted, it ran out of rain and I made it through, tougher, wiser and smarter. see I had to go through that to pay off a lot of karma and I definitely learned from that experience and am a much better person now. so remember folks if I made it through so can you and it will get better. just never lose faith always pray and God will see you through. and when the tine is rite the storm will run out of rain. I am praying for all of you and all the storms your going through. also check out the song by tesla hang tough. god bless.

I have heard this song couple hundred times, conservatively. Today I was blessed enough to be able to listen to it. Every word. Every unbelievably accurate illustration is exactly how I’ve stayed sober! I am floored. I talk about dark and light. Rainbows and storms. If you want a full disclosure of how I’ve done it…listen to this. Even if you’ve heard it a couple hundred times. I’m honest that recovery is not easy and it’s hard work to fight yourself. I put myself there and I’ll stand where I am now. It takes fucking effort to change bad habits and it gets pitch black kind of dark. You can’t break. You will wake up in the morning being so grateful you didn’t give in. So you hold on for dear life. Grit your teeth. Sleep like shit. Fight every bad thought that you’ve ever had. But every storm runs out of rain. The pressure, anxiety, fear, depression coonly push so hard until it inevitably has to start to weaken. In a few days I’ll be 53 months sober. On everything I love and hold dear, I have not had a sip of alcohol since I was sitting in a barstool at Flamestone drinking a Miller lite bottle on December 18th 2017. I never cheated myself or the people I promised. Even when nobody was watching. I’m proud of that but it was the easier part. Winning in my darkest moments ever in my life instead of kicking the shit out of myself is my greatest accomplishment. I rode it out. I did that because I knew it wouldn’t last forever. They’re called cycles and they come and go. Please stay committed and BE STRONG FOR YOURSELF! Signs don’t come when you’re looking for them. They have to happen and the reckongtion and reflection comes after. They are 💯 there and everything happens for a reason. Listen to this everyday if you have to….I can guarantee I will🌦

For FOUR FUCKING YEARS.. this song has MOCKED ME. I never truly believed that my storm would run out of rain. Id been sentanced with the deaths of my mom and sister, to a life of eternal sadness... eternal darkness.... all i could EVER seen was storm clouds. My father got sicker and sicker as time went by and i felt my self loosing the capacity to care for him, until everything came to a head with his stroke. Nothing was EVER coming to set me free. As of last friday.. I KNOW this is not a fabrication... nor is it a lie, Nor is it meant to mock. I was scared that I would not be able to care for my father.. I was afraid that I would never be able to see to it that things were going to be better. I lived in fear that i was failing and would fail yet again.... Until last friday. I got some information... my father has been accepted into the VA personal care program.. he has 100% benifits now.. They will take care of him for me... he will be happy and safe and cared for. And i will know hes happy safe and cared for.. and still be able to live too. My storm ran out of rain at 3:35 PM friday night. There is still some thunder.. and a few showers left.. but i think i know now that the worst is over. I can finally see the sun... For those of you who are still in the middle of your own storms.. please dont give up. I THOUGHT mine would never stop, all i would ever feel was the darkness.. I how ever am very wrong. I hope everyone finds their sun.

I feel your pain. I took care of both of my parents with cancer. I did what i could for them both, but they both passed away at home. Nobody can understand how hard it is to take care of a loved one and watch them slip away and take there last breath. I wish i could tell you it gets easier but its been 4 yrs since they have passed and i miss them so much. I try to remember how my mom raised me and what she would say when i"m sad. She would say suck it up,your strong and you can do this. God Bless You.

I saw you standing in the middle of the thunder and lightning I know you're feeling like you just can't win, but you're trying It's hard to keep on keepin' on, when you're being pushed around Don't even know which way is up, you just keep spinning down, 'round, down Every storm runs, runs out of rain Just like every dark night turns into day Every heartache will fade away Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain So hold your head up and tell yourself that there's something more And walk out that door Go find a new rose, don't be afraid of the thorns 'Cause we all have thorns Just put your feet up to the edge, put your face in the wind And when you fall back down, keep on rememberin' Every storm runs, runs out of rain Just like every dark night turns into day Every heartache will fade away Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain It's gonna run out of pain It's gonna run out of sting It's gonna leave you alone It's gonna set you free Set you free Every storm runs, runs out of rain Just like every dark night turns into day Every heartache will fade away Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain It's gonna set you free, It's gonna run out of pain, It's gonna set you free
