i think he tried to oversell this provacative part of the rock opera, sometimes less is more, ted neely seemed to get that, maybe not the purest singer, but you could feel him being torn deciding whether to drink the cup of poision, here it seems gary is just screaming

After the first G5, yeh, he's just screaming. He's not "performing" or singing any more. I knew Cherone could hit that note though. He's a great singer who hasn't been given the credit over the years, even though he was in a couple of chart-topping bands...

I don't mind his high notes; they aren't as meaty as those of Neely or Zolli, but still passable. His problem is that he completely overacts and it just comes across as comical.

mmm I was really expecting to see Gary's rendition of this song, and now that I watch, I'm pretty dissapointed. His high notes sound very weak compared to some other version (Ted Neeley's or Steve Balsamo's, for instance)... he even sounds like he is a little sick or something. His acting is also kinda dull to me...

Singers such as this should NOT attempt any kind of vibrato. If one hasn't developed a controlled vibrato, singing should be done without it. Nothing showcases 'amateur' like an undeveloped vibrato, not to mention the 'over-acting theatrics' during this sad excuse for a vocal performance, and that includes the thin falsetto scream. YECH! I wonder if Gary & Sebastian Bach learned from each other, because they both butchered this tune. - a professional singer.
