Gary Moore was a legendary guitarist/ vocalist from Ireland... He was friends w/ bassist/ vocalist Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy and actually played in Thin Lizzy occasionally... He could play blues and hard rock... Sadly, he passed away in 2011. Some of Gary Moore's other songs - 'Over the hills and far away'... 'Empty rooms' ... 'Nuclear attack' ... 'After the war'... 'Out in the fields'... 'Parisienne walkways'... 🤘🤘

A little piece of the history of the guitar you show him playing. Greeny is a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard, named after its first famous owner, Peter Green in 1964/5. He used it during his time in John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and Fleetwood Mac, before selling it to Gary Moore in the early 1970s. Moore used the guitar throughout his career, both as a solo artist and in bands, such as Thin Lizzy. Due to financial troubles, he was forced to sell it in 2006, after which it passed through several private collectors and guitar dealers. In 2014, Greeny was acquired by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who has since used it both in the studio and during live performances

I was stationed in Germany when this came out. It's a great song, and this performance is excellent. At the time, it was nice to hear a creative Pop tune that hearkened back to the Blues and traditional music (a lot was going on musically in the early 1990s). Sung with a lot of soul and intensity, as you noted.

Hello Bisscute, again I have to thank you for introducing me to this great Irish guitarist and singer who was Gary Moore, I still can't get over my astonishment for not knowing about him, nor having heard him before, in particular with this song "Still Got The Blues". His skill and talent in playing the guitar makes each note sound intense and emotional, where the solos are long and melodic, reminiscent of guitarists like B.B. King and Eric Clapton, but always with a clearly distinguishable very personal stamp, to which we must add that his vocal delivery is very emotional and perfectly complements the melancholic atmosphere he creates with the guitar. Great choice Bisscute. For a next reaction, and in case you want to react again to music in Spanish, I suggest the official video of Luis Miguel, performing the song La Bikina live. Greetings and a hug from Mexico City.

That was great, and I've heard of Gary Moore, but don't know all that much about him. I think he was part of 70s Irish band Thin Lizzy for a while, but I think he'd been part of different bands and played different genres over the years, and is a pretty iconic guitar player. You reacted to Metallica's cover of "Whisky In The Jar", which is an old Irish song, but they were covering Thin Lizzy's rock n roll version of the song. "The Boys Are Back In Town" is another classic Thin Lizzy song that gets used a lot in popular culture, and that you might want to check out. I also see that Gary Moore is from Belfast, Northern Ireland, which reminds me that you still haven't reacted to any Van Morrison yet, who is also originally from Belfast, but maybe a little bit older and before Gary Moore. I've given you a Van Morrison spiel before, but his stuff is kind of a mix of rock, pop, jazz, blues, old school R&B, etc., and as far as I'm concerned, is one of the all time greats of rock n roll! He's been around since at least the 60s, and is still around, but you've got to check him out! You probably can't really go wrong with any Van Morrison, but some stuff might be a little different from others over the years. "Brown Eyed Girl" is probably his most famous song, and has been covered a bunch of times, and is a pretty iconic song culturally, at least probably a favorite for brown eyed girls, and those of us that like them everywhere! "Into The Mystic" is another personal favorite of mine, but there's so many! "Domino", "Wild Night", "And It Stoned Me", and "Moondance", to name a few.
