What were the years those cars were made? Some look like 1970's or 1980's ?

The oldest was a beige Oldsmobile 98 Regency (9:16) on the top of the stack,in the back, probably about a 1980 or 1981. There are some vehicles in here that disappeared from the roads over a decade ago, including a 1990-1994 Chevy Cavalier, which were notoriously unreliable when it came to rust problems. Judging by the age of these, I would assume the lot was probably abandoned sometime around the Great Recession

So if you get stopped in Gary your vehicle wound up here and probably lost some parts and valuables while in safe custody. Vintage wheels tours loves the former Conrail or Indiana Harbor Belt crew cab with the purloined bricks. Hell you could reclaim a couple thousand a day and not put a dent in the supply.

Let's hope no Chryslers are there to suffer through any pain. I would never be able to walk through a junkyard without crying everytime i see a Chrysler including pt cruiser without wanting to kiss the hood passionately and saving it to get it repaired

I feel the same way about Chevy vans, but those Chrysler are nice and it is hard to watch them just and rot away like that. This spring I plan on getting out there and doing some more junkyards. I am looking forward to those. They are always interesting especially in Gary. You never know what you’re going to see. Looks like you have been enjoying the channel.
