I transplanted the last of my tomato plants and pepper plants into my raised beds. I also transplanted seedlings for zucchini, crookneck squash, lemon squash, Hearts of Gold Cantaloupe, Sugar Baby Watermelon, and ground cherries. I spread leaf mulch under my apple trees, and sprayed them with Immunox to prevent Cedar Gall rust. The Honeycrisp apple tree is loaded with blossoms. All of my transplants got a boost with liquid fertilizer, and also my herb seedlings. The Seascapes are already fruiting, so strawberries soon. Goji Berries have got to be the slowest growing plant in my garden. They are way too small to transplant, so I up potted them into four inch pots. The way they are growing, it may be next year before they are planted in their permanent location. What's left? Sowing seeds for pole beans, (Red Noodle Beans this year), cilantro, dill, parsnips, more carrots, and marjoram. Next year it will either be Gold Rush, or Blue Lake. I also have basil ready to transplant. Two seedlings, zucchini and a cucumber, are late replacements and need about a week or two before being ready to transplant. Everything is pretty much finished, or will be done by noon tomorrow. I am a week behind last year, and three days ahead of schedule, plus I have accomplished a lot more this year. My garden has gone from big to OMG, what have I done!

Do you have a video how to grow trash can potatoes using straw as well
@crazysquirrel942510 ай бұрын
You can grow lettuce on top of that bag. I plant my taters around St Patrick's day. Fingers crossed that the current cold snap won't kill them....

PS Potash is water soluble. Rain and watering can wash it into the soil. Be sure your soil is a bit on the acidic side, around 5.5 to 6.5. Helps prevent potato scab.

I hope you show this bag method for sweet potatoes too. I heard they don't like over fertile soil but not sure that's true.

Hi Gary Do I grow sweet potatoes the same way I grow normal spuds? Will they grow in fabric pots to?
@MyFirstVegetableGarden10 ай бұрын
Nope they are actually not potatoes so they are grown very differently. Look up sweet potatoes on my channels.

Hi Gary new subscriber here, I have russett potatoes from the store and they all have sprouted how do I know if it's determinate or indeterminate, thanks
@mowerds3310 ай бұрын
Russets are late potatoes(longer growing time), so they're indeterminate.
@PilarFrancisco-Saguil10 ай бұрын
@@mowerds33 oh thank you

They are indeterminate. You have to look up the names.

Stop over fertilizing organic or not. I've grown 3 foot tall pepper plants with 1/4 cup organic fertilizer with no more additions. 2lbs. Of superhot peppers per plant.
