Fishing Roker Pier Sunderland

Fishing Roker pier in Sunderland.
We arrived at Roker pier quite early in the morning fishing in darkness through to first light. Catching a few different species of fish including coddling, Pouting, whiting and Mackerel.
We started off bait fishing using rag worm and then changed to lure fishing once the sun started to rise using our spinning rods and lures for the Mackerel and Cole fish.

Nice video bud im away there tuesday hopefully just before 2 am only problem is parking as car par gates shut between 10pm and 8am and ideas on where to park

Thanks Lee, I haven't been since last year but when we went the first car park you come to as you drive down the bank the one with the rnli building on the corner you could turn left just before the building into the car park and it was left open all night.

Hello mate thanks. The pier gate is usually open all night unless the sea is rough then they lock it.

Hi mate most of the beaches around the North east are good for flat fish, both of south shields beaches and most of the Northumberland beaches like druridge Bay.

Ive had them all along the tyne but the grass bank at Hebburn, mill dam and the walkway are the places I've had the most from.

The closest metro station is the stadium of light but it’s quite a walk from the pier. The closest tackle shop is on Roker avenue called Rutherfords angling.
