Members of dying fetus seldom do podcasts, let alone having all 3 of them at once for an hour. I cannot explain how much I learned about my favorite band from this. Despite their popularity and longevity there is shockingly little information about them in the internet. Specifically regarding lineup changes earlier in the bands life. This is incredible for us Dying Fetus fans
@Metalton95 Жыл бұрын
Right?! Getting all 3 on here is SUCH a blessing to us fans! Also crazy to hear from John that he was doubting Dying Fetus when Necrophagist and The Faceless got traction. Then he fucking put out Descend Into Depravity (their most technical release) and followed up with Reign Supreme (their best album and a GOAT'ed modern death metal classic). Maybe the real sound of perseverance were the 3-piece records they made along the way? ;)

The latest album is such an amazing record! I chose it as my favorite music album (of everything) for 2023 and I am never disappointed. I do feel that the reviews (while most have been quite positive) miss how good it is. Not only should it be seen as a highwater mark (up to now) for the band, but I think it did some stuff I really never hear in Death Metal, and I appreciate that. Also, I liked when the guys talked about being humble on this interview and again, I appreciate that sentiment! Whenever we, as humans, let our ego dominate our every action, that is recipe to fall on our faces in shame eventually. You guys fucking rock! 2023 was a great year for heavy metal and yet, I find myself listening to Make Them Beg For Death all the time, months on end. Frozen Soul and Suffocation and Cattle Decapitation and Cannibal Corpse had tremendous records last year and yet, Dying Fetus is right up there with Bloodbath and Carcass and Nile, vying for my favorite Death Metal act. Please continue in this vein gentlemen because it is so damn interesting, and I love variety in my music. \m/ \m/

41:43 Make sense cause to this day Reign Supreme is my favorite deathmetal album. Been listening to it since it came out in 2012 at least once a month.

Man this is exquisite. I’ve been a fan of both Suicide Silence and Dying Fetus for half my lifetime (I’m 32), it’s so great to just soak in this meeting of the minds. And as a bonus, I saw DF live this week 🤘
