Love to hear Travis’s pride in Death Atlas. This album is absolutely outstanding, and I also think their best, and they really got jobbed by the pandemic and no ability to take it on the road. Front to back it fits together thematically and musically unlike any of their other albums. So great.

I've been a huge fan since the debut of 'To Serve Man' and after thoroughly taking it in I began telling everyone I knew that Cattle was something extraordinary, a band with a unique talent unlike anyone else. Little did I know how far they would take it. And I agree, Monolith is a MASSIVE leap forward for extreme metal. It's my favorite album of theirs. Humanure holds a special place as well. I'm not a huge fan of redux or re-recordings but I wish they would re-record it with proper production. I see that album as their 'fork in the road' so to speak, where they were straddling the gruesome yet tongue in cheek light heartedness of gross out while at the same time really starting to say something, bringing in the real world & fact based misanthropy. And Karma Bloody Karma was the next logical/pure organic step towards ripping people's eyes open who deny or outright don't care about who we are and what we do on this earth. But to me, musically anyway, Monolith is the pinnacle of their career. ALTHOUGH, if there's anything divine left piddling about in the cosmos,, it surely willed us this utterly brilliant track at the right time in history... Long taint the old flesh!

This was a great interview-the questions were good, and Travis seems like he’s doing a lot for himself personally as far as musical interests and mental health awareness, so kudos to you man. It was really cool to hear more about the music-making process, and vocal development over the years. My dad is currently going through treatments for late-stage cancer, and at the same time, my own band is getting some real traction, and even though it sucks to hear that Travis has been through some shit these past few years, it was uplifting to hear him talk about it, and to see the passion he still has for making music. It’s not always easy being excited for something really good happening, when something really awful is going on simultaneously, so it’s been hard to stay motivated. Thanks for opening up about all that-I don’t know about anybody else, but it helped me to hear. Cheers!

I've been saying this for fuckin years man, Travis, and to a lesser extent Dickie Allen are absolute pioneers in the extreme genres. Both are such absolute demons. Friendly, cuddly demons. I also loved the discussion about crying to Cattle. I've never cried to their music, but the last half of the final song on Death Atlus gives me the fucking chills. Super emotional. It feels like listening to the faint wailing of people who are losing their planet; remorseful but its too late, sort of in a pathetic way... if that makes sense.

The first time I heard monument of inhumanity it almost got me, it's horrifying but there's a beauty in the darkness that's hard to explain. Only noticing, after listening to the album at least 4 times on repeat, that it came out on my birthday was just the biggest fucking cherry on top. I've shared the same views on mankind and humans, that Cattle Decap has, for the longest time and having this message put into songs that are being sung by such a sublime metal unicorn of a vocalist as Travis is immensely heartwarming. This is such a good podcast I’m so glad i stumbled upon Garza and his interviews recently. I wish I could have met people growing up who like Metal and extreme metal. I’d love to have friends to jam Metal with.

Awesome interview for sure I saw cattle decapitation live in Portland Oregon that show blew me away brilliant lyrics but you guys are so right sometimes relationships go through hard things but when there's a close friend that passes away and then you see somebody you see that person all you have is love and that was awesome to see Travis Express that I wish him the best and safe protection for the band on the road 🤘🤘💀💀

Saw/heard them for the first time when Humanure came out. Still my favorite Cattle album.

They've evolved a lot and I love their new records but Humanure is still my fave as well, some of it might be nostalgia but it's such a sick record

I grew up in San Marcos and Escondido, CA and the first time I heard Cattle Decap was like in 2006 while watching the local college's TV channel, they actually showed a live performance of Total Gore and maybe a couple more songs from the Karma album. I was intrigued, I'd never heard anything that crazy, I was listening to Slipknot, Korn, Devildriver, CoF, Bloodbath, Trivium, etc back then. I looked them up and I loved the To Serve Man album.

Cattle as a whole are the most down to earth dudes who HAVE NOT let fame get to them one bit. They will go from playing in the most awesome of venues to an absolute $hithole hole in the wall in East LA and still KILL IT and remain huble. Shared the stage with Cattle at said $hithole out here in East Los and it was awesome

This man made me take Death Metal seriously. His vibe is just one of a kind, just permeates through the screen. Unmistakable, all the all the particular eeriness that is travis: like a mad scientist mixed with a highschool skater punk mixed with a quirky dad/Ted Bundy...I couldn't imagine the vocalist from Cattle Decapitation being any other person.

Didn't expect him to be like that. Very natural and genuine. I thought he'd be more of a "lad", like beer and touring stories etc, and also way more tree-hugging in the interview. Came across as very honest, I appreciated him and the host and the interview.

Death Atlas is not only album of the year worthy and I think it reflected the time so well, but it's also, straight up, some of the best art ever released in Heavy Music. It's immaculate and it got me through the pandemic musically. Bring Back the Plague will forever be one of my favorites.
