You did a good job removing and installing the fans . And you gave a good explanation of the procedure. It would be a good time to mention cleaning out the bottom of the hit. Thank you for the video! 🙂

Thanks! I could not find a video anywhere on KZbin explaining how to do this, so I made this one - so glad you found it useful.

Is the blower quiet? We put the TV volume so high because our blower is so noisy. I'm sure it needs to be replaced but I don't want to replace it if it's not going to make a noise difference.

Yes, the blower is pretty quiet, not silent, but doesn't interfere with conversation in the room.

Did you put the foam backing on the new blower? My current blower is silent. I do need to clean it, it’s gummy when I try to turn it. Any suggestions for me?

I used some thick double sided 3M tape as "foam" backing for the new motor - I can't seem to find where I bought it but it was pretty standard off the shelf stuff. The replacement fan is quite quiet, no rattle to suggest the tape is not providing good sound insulation.

Hi, how does this blower knows when to turn on or off? Is there a temperature sensor connected to the bottom of fire box? Thanks

The blower itself is just wired for power - no sensor or thermostat. In my installation power to the blower is controlled by a wall mounted dimmer switch which allows me to control the speed. I expect you could install a temp sensor.
