sir is trans effect also applicable on octahedral and tetrahedral complexes also or only on square planar complex

Possible in octahedral and square planar complex. Trans effect is not possible in tetrahedral complex because all for bond angles are same. So there is no cis or trans position.

It's made on the basis of Greenberg polarization theory and Pi acid ligand having vacant orbital to show pi back bonding..hope that helps
