Great tutorial and another awesome Old World visual feast. Simply an insane work that again you make look so damn easy! Have you considered making a ruined inn? Inns in this settings are so damn cool and disctinct, with their walled-off perimeteres to ward-off lurking beasts (or nosy people), small outpost towers and the like! if you ever need to see some references I HIGHLY recommend Buildings of the Reikland pdf from Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th edition! It's small but has such a deep Old World/Mordheim feel to it's architecture. It also has tall gates, temples, farms and other examples of typical Empire buildings.

I really like your work, the one consistent niggle I tend to have is how bright and vibrant your red paints are. Oh, damn! I used Liquitex "Transparent RAW Umber" ink, rather than Burnt Umber, and it went really oddly - seemed to go on brown and then kinda disappear (hence, "transparent"?), but also beaded up a little, as if it was too watery. @DevsDice is there enough of a difference between Raw and Burnt Umber for me to go buy the latter, do you think? Thanks!
@DevsDice Жыл бұрын
I don't think so in all earnest! The inks tend to tint some surfaces and sink in like on balsawood etc! Personally I prefer the more "earthly" tone of Burnt Umber but I am sure any brown works! 👍😊
@NicholasGeorgePrior Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, you do fantastic tutorials. I'm struggling with the Burnt Umber ink step. I use the same ink through an airbrush but it's very streaky and just sinks into recesses like a wash. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much Nicholas Prior! When it comes to the ink being streaky I think that is what actually makes it look dirty so I would trust the process before I get concerned! Have you completed the painting on any piece? 👍😊
