Good tutorial. Even for somebody who has a basic idea of how to composite, the way you describe everything makes it nice and simple for a refresh or a new learner. Keep sharing, I love your videos, they've helped enormously.

Great video but the single most useful tip for me in here was when you burned the artifact around her sleeve! Fantastic and so simple! At first I tried this on a photo of mine and it wasn't really working, but then I realized I was doing it on a merged layer. As you point out, you need to do it right on the masked layer of the subject! Thanks for that -- I always hate those stinkin' artifacts and have never known how to get rid of them!

I've got a quick question... if you look at the lighting of the model in comparison to the lighting of the background, it's almost a dead giveaway that she was added in afterwards. (Big honking light on the left side of her face whilst she's standing in a darker section of the tunnel) What could have been done to remedy that, without buggering up the colors? This has been one of the hardest things for me to grasp in blending two images together.

Reducing the lightness of the model using the hue/saturation adjustment layer might help :)

Nice. Could have removed distortion on the tunnel. The model was shot on a much tighter Focal Length with less distortion.. The verticals converge inwards on the tunnel. Too little DOF (too much blur) for the wide shot even with a wide open aperture. The model would have been 3-4ft closer to camera for your current effect. + better to find your back ground first as you can control light on your subject to match. Too much Clarity and burn on the Hat. All subjective i know. Great tips though Gavin, keep it up
