Unless I have missed some more sad news, it was actually one of the guitarists, Fujioka Mikio , who passed away. The last 3 songs on the latest album, Starlight, Shine and Arkadia (also known as the trilogy of lights) are often seen as a tribute, though that is not officially recognized. There was a great live video of the 3, but i think it has been expunged from youtube

Great reaction & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。You finally got to BABYMETAL after other Japanese bands including Band-Maid and Lovebites whom I also love. This video is a rare compilation from 2 shows (at the Forum and Day-2 of Yokohama, both in 2019) which I have never seen before. I witnessed this song 10 times; one on Day-1 at Makuhari last year performed by 5 girls (Su, Moa and 3 Avengers) backed by 2 Kami Bands (East & West), the 9 others were in 10 BABYMETAL Budokan concerts this year. I got excited 10 times in different ways and I regretted that I had not known this super unit and supporting team earlier than 2019. Please continue to explore BABYMETAL.

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. Thanks for your kind thoughts about Mikio Fujioka (RIP) at the end as well - but he was the lead guitarist and was truly gifted. The bassist is BOH and he is still rocking hard with the Kami Band of the East. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce wrote the guitar arrangements for 'Road of Resistance' and played for the studio recording. Was it sunny or pissing down with rain when you saw them at Download? If it was raining and there were 3 girls it was 2016, it is was sunny and there were 4 girls on stage it was 2018. Mikio passed away early in January 2018 after falling from an observation platform where he had been stargazing. The last 3 songs on the third album released in 2019 are known as the "Trilogy of Lights" and they pretty much take us through the stages of mourning following the loss of somebody close. Nobody associated with the band has ever said anything to confirm the belief that many fans have that these may be in some part a tribute to Mikio, but the lyrics and feeling fits so well it is hard to believe it isn't true. There are excellent videos of live performances for all three on the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel that have been rendered safe for reactions. Read the descriptions to see how you might prefer to use them. I (and many others I'm sure) would love to see your reactions. The three songs are: 'Starlight' which is about the initial loss and grief. 'Shine' which is about acceptance and coming to terms with the loss (and is just a beautiful song - look for the Legend M performance, it is something really special). 'Arkadia' which is about moving on, looking to the future and the great things still to come.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - The two Japanese concerts in this compilation, 'BABYMETAL AWAKENS - THE SUN ALSO RISES -' and 'BABYMETAL ARISES - BEYOND THE MOON - LEGEND - M -' had the "Kamis From the East". They are Leda Cygnus and ISAO on guitars (THE SUN ALSO RISES), Takayoshi Ohmura and ISAO on guitars (BEYOND THE MOON) with Hideki Aoyama on drums, and BOH on bass for both shows. 'LIVE AT THE FORUM' was filmed in Los Angeles, and had "The Kamis From the West". They are Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio on guitars, Anthony Barone on drums and Clint Tustin on bass. Those two Japanese shows had Kano Fujihira as the supporting dancer. The LA show alternated between Momoko Okazaki and Riho Sayashi. It was Momoko for this song, with Riho returning to the stage for the two encores.

Interesting compilation, i like it but as i said to many is a little bit messy because got some different info to give but anyways i guess the point here is to just have fun and you sure have it \m/ Bassist is Boh (the bald one), and he still alive and even doing livestream here on YT along with Takayoshi Ohmura (another guitarrist Kami Band legend) once in a while, fortunately, i guess you're confusing with Mikio Fujioka-sama, the guitarrist legend who passed away, sadly :'( Glad you're into Babymetal Fox Hole now, i hope you still watching and enjoying more BM songs, i'll be happy to follow your journey with such a passion you have \m/ Be blessed by the Fox God and kitsune up! 🦊🤘 _LIVINGLEGEND_ _10BABYMETALYEARS_

Ok reaction.. But it's Not Live.. It's a compilation video. You can tell when you see video descriptions with a few "+" it means the merged the videos. With babymetal it's easy to merge because the girls do the same moves for each song for years. You can tell by the different stages and by the guitar players.. The showed Takayoshi, Leda, and Isao. Bass player BOH will be surprised he passed away... Since he is still alive and the leading player with most babymetal performances (think he has only missed 2 shows.) Sorry for who ever gave such rubbish info. The one passed away is Guitarist Mikio Fujioka, who's last show with BM was December 2017 in Hiroshima (Also first show without Yui). If you ever see the video "No Rain No Rainbow" from that show. That is basically a tribute to him since is was released later in the year and has more footage of him. If you would of did Road of Resistance Live At Tokyo Dome which on the Babymetal Reactors Resource channel on KZbin (plenty of stuff there) . kzbin.info/www/bejne/noLddpZ7g9Zge68 You would of got a good version with Mikio. Who's harmonics are all over the song and during the chant he is doing it with his guitar. Also when he and Takayoshi do RoR, the tempo is up as if they are seeing who can go faster. Takayoshi will use Mikio's guitar (burgundy snapper 7) during shows still to this day.

Babymetal is unique and different from any metal band out there. Babymetal only wanted the best for its fan. All of Babymetal songs are evolved around Su-Metal and Yuimetal and Moametal. Babymetal has a different choreographed dance routine to accompany every song. This is Dragonforce on steroids. Kami Band is some of the finest musicians Japan has to offer and compliment Babymetal well and perfect for Babymetal live performances. Kami Band member that passed away is "Mikio Fujioka" the guitarist not "Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte" the bassist. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊❤🇯🇵🇸🇬.

I'm sorry to inform you, but this reaction will 100% get blocked. It's sad, but every live performance from 2015 or later it always gets blocked if you don't work a bit on it. If you want to try and reupload it again, you can try to put a transparent watermark on top, or to put a few 10-12 blank screen pauses telling people is for copyright reasons and to just double tap forward. There is the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel that provides videos of great live performances with already a transparent watermark so that are pretty safe to react to! Safe performances to react to are the festival videos, the Legend 1997 show in 2013 and the Budokan show from 2014. Most of their official MV are also safe, except for "Megitsune", "Karate", "Gimme Chocolate", "Road of Resistance" live in Japan, "No Rain No Rainbow" live from Legend S. Going back to the download where you saw them: if there were the 3 original girls, it was 2016, if there were 4 girls on stage it was 2018 :D

Even though this is probably one of if not the best compilation I've seen so far, you should really skip them in the future. Usually they're super confusing because of the changing members and the many different stages they perform on. There's a channel called "Babymetal Reactor Resource" (kzbin.info/door/I6VCZx5ux46V6ZGSTd403w ) with a lot of "real" live performances you should use if you plan on watching more Babymetal. The videos there have a watermark over them to upload in your reaction and there's a link with the original video without the mark for you to watch in the description. It seems the algorithm the company behind Babymetal, AMUSE, or KZbin or whoever, uses only blocks stuff based on the video, not the audio.
