@@harolddavis1493 You need to understand that Paul's Gospel is not the same Gospel that Jesus preached or that He sent out the 12 and the 70 to preach. 2 different Gospels for two different groups of people for two completely different purposes. Peter was telling Jews they need to be baptised in water for forgiveness of sins. According to Paul's Gospel, the moment we believe the Gospel of Grace, The Holy Spirit seals us until the redemption of our body. The Holy Spirit also removes our sinful flesh from us in the circumcision made without hands. The Holy Spirit also baptises us in our spirit into the Body of Christ. Our baptism is not a physical dunking in water, but Israel's is. They are to be Kings and Priests on earth for the Kingdom, and according to the law a priest must go through a ceremonial cleansing process: baptism. That's why Jesus needed to be baptised. Having come out of Calvinism to the truth: Calvinists doctrinally believe that a result of being elect is a diligent devotion to obeying the things that God commanded. If you are given a saving faith, then you should do Biblical works including evangelize. I don't say this to defend their beliefs but to help you understand and talk with your loved ones who are caught up in similar beliefs. What I see in the denomination of which I was previously a member, many members rarely attended, and most others lived lives that did not demonstrate "election." The practical reality of teaching "unconditional election" is not being firmly told our behavior matters in the sight of God undermines diligent pursuit of Godly obedience. Worse, it is only a small step from not pursuing righteousness to actively pursuing sinful behavior.

So, what do the Scriptures say concerning the thief on the cross and the necessity of baptism? First, the thief on the cross did not need baptism. CHRIST makes a statement in Matthew 9:6 But that ye may know that the SON of Man hath Power on Earth to Forgive Sins. Therefore, my LORD had the Power to Forgive the Sins of the thief and Baptism would not have been necessary. Secondly, Baptism for Remission of Sins that applies to us today did Not apply to the thief on the cross seeing that he lived and died under the Old Covenant/Old Law/Old Testament made through Moses. The New Covenant/New Testament/New Law given through our MESSIAH went into Effect After the Death of CHRIST. Hebrews 9:17 For a Testament is of Force After men are Dead: otherwise, it is of No strength at all while the Testator Liveth. Also, John 1:17 For the Law was given by Moses, but Grace and Truth came by YESHUA CHRIST. . We can see these principles after my SAVIOUR Rose from the dead and before HE ascended into Heaven. HE gave commandments to HIS apostles in Mark 16:16 He that Believeth and is Baptized shall be Saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. This is under the New Covenant/New Testament of CHRIST that applies to us today but did Not apply to the thief on the cross. Faith only will Not save. Baptism only will Not save but Both are Essential for Salvation. . The Holy Bible does not say whether or not the thief on the cross (Luke 23:43) was Baptized before he was on the cross, but we do know a sinner has to be Baptized to be Saved (Mark 16:16) under the New Law/New Covenant. . As my LORD lived HE could save Any One from their sins and Anyway HE chose. Thus the sinner of Luke 18:10-14 was Justified and the thief on the cross in Luke 23:43 was promised Paradise, because these incidence happened Before YESHUA Death. When YESHUA died, salvation can only be given according to the conditions of HIS Will. . This is where the costly mistake is made. Countless numbers of people are patterning their salvation like the sinner of Luke 18 and the thief on the cross. However, this does Not meet the conditions of the will found after YESHUA Death. In order to be saved today, we Must Hear (John 6:44-45), Believe (Romans 10:17), Repent (Luke 13:3,5), Confess (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:10), and be Baptized (Mark 16:16). To fail to do these is making a costly mistake because our souls are at risk! . In summary, concerning the thief on the cross we read of a Believing and Penitent sinner and a Compassionate and Forgiving SAVIOR. Concerning salvation for anyone living today under CHRISTS New Law/Covenant/New Testament we must accept all that is written and be willing to Believe that CHRIST is the SON Of GOD. Mark 16:15-16, Repent and turn from our sins. Acts 2:37-38; Confess our Faith that YESHUA CHRIST is the SON of GOD. Acts 8:36-37, and be Baptized for the Remission of Sins. Acts 22:16. Please Consider in View of Eternity!

What makes the church of Christ a cult is the cliam that its the only true church OTC ❤

It is ironic that neither of these groups are willing to discuss in depth the origins of their theology and the history of your founders. Both John Calvin and Alexander Campbell completely miss the mark when it comes to the truth about salvation in Christ Jesus. John Calvin was a murderous man and a fatalistic Gnostic and Alexander Campbell did not even believe his own teachings about baptism. In fact, he never got rebaptised after supposedly getting his revelation about “restoring the gospel”. So by a strict following of the CoC’s interpretation, their very church’s founder is in hell right now. But he is not alone, as John Calvin is likely right there beside him. ✝️🙏🏼📖

The churches founder is Jesus Christ (Matt. 16:18). You should watch part one of this series as Aaron and Don do a wonderful job explaining who Alexander Campbell was, he was just a man that wanted to restore the church back to the New Testament from reformers like Calvin. The church does not go by any of his teachings because he never came up with his own teachings, he just realized he wasn't doing what the Bible said to do and he along with his family were baptized into Christ. Unfortunately Im sure there may be some religious organizations with Church of Christ on their building that is teaching error, it sounds like Trey was attending one of those, but The one true church of the New Testament only goes by the teachings of God's inspired word. We have nothing to do with Alexander Campbell.

You don't need a multipart series trying to defend that the COC is not a cult. It is a cult. When you tell people that playing instruments when serving God is a sin and is tied to your salvation that is a cult teaching. Paul says it's a different gospel.

Can you please post a link to the 2 witness evidence that they teach that it is a SIN tied to your salvation to play instruments? (I would LOVE to see this evidence of this false gospel teaching!) of course if you can not provide this evidence, you are literally putting forth a false witness... and THAT is a huge sin so, please provide your evidence! Thanks!

@inTruthbyGrace my ex COC teacher at the local church in Kilgore Texas told me that.

@inTruthbyGrace it's good to know that I can have instruments in worshipping God and its not a sin attached to my salavation. You are the first COC person that inferred this.

All of the passages that deal with music in the worship of the church use the words “singing”, “sing”, or “fruit of our lips”, except for Ephesians 5:19 which reads, “making melody”. This is a translation of the Greek word psallo. It was synonymous with the word “sing” and is translated so in all of the other passages where it is used. If there be any argument about this word, Paul tells us what instrument to psallo with: “the heart”. Since Paul is giving a command, if he had reference to playing a mechanical instrument of music we would all be obligated to do so. It would not be optional, but mandatory for every Christian. The early church did not understand it this way, as they never worshiped God with a mechanical instrument. Therefore, instrumental music in worship is an addition to the word of God. From passages such as Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32 and Revelation 22:18-19 we learn that God would not have us to add to His word. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 4:6, “Learn not to go beyond the things which are written” (ASV). In 1 Timothy 1:3, Paul admonishes, “teach no other doctrine”. Remember, “Whosoever goeth onward and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God”

Of course. All religions and their different sects are a cult, by definition. It is from the cult that a society belongs to that it gets/develops its "culture. The Church of Christ is sect/denomination that has its beginnings in the Baptist and Presbyterian sects of Christianity. Alexander and John Campbell felt that Baptists and Presbyterians were two liberal and pulled out and formed the "Christian"/Disciples of Christ, but it wasn't long before they split and Alexander, John's son, pulled out and formed the Church of Christ.

That would be "too" liberal. Sorry about that.

Yes it’s a cult

Can you back that up with scripture? You can't just say something, make an accusation and leave it there. That is not an intelligent argument.

your evidence would be much appreciated by me, the producers of this video and especially Trey (he is a bit empty handed in proving the Church of Christ teach the Calvinist precepts he has ascribed to CoC).... so please, we are seeking sources to refute or confirm this allegation...

@@inTruthbyGrace Well, nowhere in the Old Testament does it discuss having the messiah come to earth twice because the job was not finished the first time. That makes you part of a Jewish cult.
