2012 BMW 640i: Conspicuous Consumption! Real World Review and Test Drive!

I'll openly admit that this is an abnormal test drive, we don't even have a BMW dealer here in town. But that just made it all the more sweet. Check out this 2012 640i and see what its like to have a personal sports coupe...on 22" rims!

Just bought a 2015 640i M-Sport Gran Coupe in Alpine White last weekend. I was actually looking at the 440i but once I saw and drove the 6 I was HOOKED!! Beautiful car that does everything right....Love It!!

Just bought a gorgeous red one. Had the standard leak from the oil filter housing (common across the range apparently) but all fixed now. Waiting for delivery. Wife was NOT happy! Damn sexy car. Good review 👍.

Well done review. I'm in the market for a late model preowned luxe / driver's car that's super comfortable ... and holds the road like glue... and a car that LIKES to be spanked when I'm in the mood. I've been looking at all the top car reviewers and your review on this BMW is right up there. One side note: make sure the dealer's logo who gave you the car, get's some prominent attention along with their web address and a cool shot of theit inventory as well... You'll get many more dealers willing to give you their cars to test. And then we viewers get to see a bigger range of cars!

We have a 2014 640i Gran Coupe and it's a very nice car, for about $33k (bought Sept 2018). The only Con is that the back seats are non existent if you're taller than 5'9".

I love my 05 645ci. Same rims but 19" and in Bronze. Gray ext. Black int. You're 100% correct. I get looks and compliments where ever I go. HUGE SMILE. :D. Though I had to fix the common issues that come with the motor to the tune of $3500 shortly AFTER the purchase I would still recommend this beastly beauty. I'm an Emergency Room Nurse and really do not have the budget to get a 2015 6 Series and 05 is very reasonable. When I pull up with the top down even the doctors think I'm a doctor. Hahahaha. Thanks for makimg this video!

I’m driving the 08 LCI version. My god what a car! A lot of people beat on the design but the car looks so great in person! And the way it steers? I’ve tried a 335i e92 before this and while the e92 was great, the balance of this car is just on a different level!

Love this car! Im a girl and I have one the 640I msport coupe for a v-6 this thing is a beast. I have the 2016 and Im inlove from the looks of the car to driving it especially in sports mode

It's 0-60 is in the middle of the 5 second range, not 4.

mkelebay you are right! I had one. It's about 5.3-5.5. My g37s is the same about 5.3 to 5.5. I raced the 12 model my friend,who owns a car lot had it was neck and neck with my g37.

4:45 it is not n55 it is b58 which is better with closed deck design. The same engine in toyota supra

640i coupe owner here, it’s n55 :) the 640i has been around since the 335i, not the same engine as f series 340i and 440i.

@@willsastro5883 100% Correct! My 2015 640i GC has the N55. I was in the market for a 440i with the B58 but after test driving my 6 I was sold on the N55! It's been a great engine thus far with zero issues to report...👍

It's a single twin scroll turbo. Confusing because the the engine cover says "twin power turbo". Its a beast of a motor nonetheless. Don't remember where I found my 0-60 data (not my own) so I can't vouch for it!
