And now its just a breath later, really, only seconds in the cosmic time frame, when I realized she'd played me completely. Totally. I'd been there for her, with her, through all of her dystopia and family decompression, being a strength and a pillar for her brokenness .. and it turned out she'd never really been there all along. No more sparkling blue lying eyes. They were gone with the starfall of my own soul and I sat alone in the old apartment bleeding out and realizing the truth of it all .. while the cats she'd made her kids cried for her. Not me. Our life had been an exercise of catharsis I'd lived through again and again, crying with her in all of her dark nights of the soul, following her story, her tale, through and into her jail cells. Isn't love where you embrace the fire and help the beloved heal? God knows how I did so from the heart, every day .. and it was never enough. She never came around at all. I let the moon tag along.

Is it.. I finally conquered the dual capacity failure of staying at the bar till I’d exhausted each and every potential for connecting to love or finished the bottle= whichever came first… I wrote this as description of my earlier walks down a Hilton head island plantation road , plenty full of drink, but able to watch the moon over my shoulder and still walk… yes, this storyline got its inspiration from moons that were full mostly,,,
