City pressure for water also is determined by time of day. People are at work in the middle of the day, so your pressure may be high. However in the early morning or evening, folks are at home. That means pressure can be much lower as everyone is home using water from the main. Keep that in mind too! Glad to know there is a fellow panhead out there like me (skillet shirt)! Love them brother! Great video as always Pete. Still lifting up Jax in prayer. Love you man. Be safe!

I ordered a Jumbo Sled and pressure pump to fit my rural well water system and I’m very happy with it. We’ve been in a moderate drought up here in the northern Midwest and it brought my turf back into shape in just a couple weeks. Thanks much for your videos. I won’t miss any of your updates. Best to you and your family, Pete.

same here. i had to get a 3/4” hose to run the rainbird falcon 6504, or it wouldn’t even pop up with a regular 5/8” hose

I have two outside garden hoses I use to water my lawn manually. I can run each hose with one impact sprinkler and they both spray out about 30 feet with excellent flow. I have a well. Using a 3/4 inch hose rather than the standard 5/8 also increased the flow a lot.

I also drag hoses around for watering my lawn. I quite using 5/8" hose and went to 3/4". Not sure if it makes a difference as I think the city water meter necks down then back up after the meter. I may or may not have a trick up my sleeve as there is a funny looking 90 before the meter. Funny looking because the top of the 90 has a bleeder port coming out the top that is the same size thread as the rest of the 90 with a plug in it for when you don't want to use the bleeder port. The biggest improvement for me so far is the booster pump. Insane how much that has helped cover a lot more ground.

@@JF2it I'm lucky to be on a well with good flow and pressure. My front lawn has inground irrigation with 4 hunter I20 heads on each zone (13 zones). My back yard I'm running 4 rainbird 5000 rotors per zone on a 4 zone melnor controller as an above ground sprinkler setup, it's working well for me. I just have to move a couple of them out of the way to mow but the layout of my backyard allows me to put most of them around the edges spraying into the lawn

I think they recommend 3/4" hose for optimal performance. You said you have the Eley hose, I think that is 5/8. I would prefer to use a 5/8 as I have an extra one. Your videos are helpful in picking one of these sprinkler...I think the green rotor unit.

I had terrible water flow at my house. Pressure was good but flow Was not. It took 2:20 to fill a 5 gallon bucket while my neighbors house took 1:13 to fill the bucket. Found out there was a steel ball probably from an old ball valve that broke loose and restricted the flow. I had my plumber and the towns water department trying to troubleshoot this. I now have great flow and can water the lawn and have the kids play in the sprinkler. And my shower experience is much better too

Pete, your city water supply likely has a pressure reducing valve right near your water meter (usually). They commonly fail. Yours may even be turned down a bit. A good sign is when you first open a faucet you'll have pressure that drops in a few seconds time. Just something to look into.

😂 speaking of hard ground. When we moved into our new construction house a year ago. I was having to use a piece of rebar and a mini sledgehammer to poke holes for the sprinkler spikes. They’d snap every time if I didn’t.

OOOOHHHH....... Pete, should be using an Eley quick connect. They have very large openings so less restriction. Its kinda freaky how much larger they are that a normal quick connect like you have and that I have a lot of as well. I have converted all my quick connects to Eley now. Not cheap. But they are nice. (I know it probably doesnt make much of a difference. I'm mostly just messin with ya. But they are awesome. and PS, I ended up ordering over $700 from Eley after your video using your link. Lots of quick connects, long hose, the 4 wheel cart) Also, what was your pressure at the hose end? I think I saw a pressure gauge on the hose at the sprinkler. I am in florida and on city water. I can fill a 5 gallon bucket in under 50 seconds so close to 5.5 or so a minute. My pressure is just below 70psi in my house. Nothing like your well of course.
