Dr Chee was low-key strategic. He brought up the population issue which then forced Dr Vivian and the P*P to take a stance against an increase in population, instead of toying around the idea. After their aggressive response against Dr Chee yesterday, they are now aware that they cannot plan for a significant increase in population in the future otherwise it would seem hypocritical. By the way, I am not a huge fan of Dr Chee, just thought his attempt to surface the issue will have some positive outcomes.

I do think that Chee took the whole 10 million comment out of context (its a lot clearer what they meant when you read the whole article) and I dont think the PAP actually wants to increase it to 10 million, but it does make the ministers not consider any plans for population increase as it would be a hypocritical move.

I like him. This is how politics should be about! Speaking out different views but debate based on facts and information, and not personal attacks. That is class. Not shooting others down just for the sake of making oneself look better. This person will help to grow both parties! For those who object for the sake of objection, learn something from this guy. Justify your choice with knowledge and facts, not just for the sake of objection. He is a good representation of a gentleman's play, with brain and class. Too bad, he is not in my area. If not, definitely will have chance. Having said that, if he is all theories but no ability to execute the strategies, could be all talk no work too. There is no way he can work until he is first voted into parliament, and then his party becomes a significant minority to form a shadow cabinet, and then his party becomes the majority for him to actually put his plans into practice. Singapore is not PAP and PAP is not Singapore and let's make this very clear. From past experiences, when you're unfortunately retrenched (more accurately your role is being replaced) , can PAP told the company to return you to the job or immediately find you another comparable job? There are more than 40,000 Covid-19 infections and the numbers are growing, the lockdown and all the costs are borne by Singaporean using hard earned reserves. The one bitter and painful lesson is Singaporean must get more involved and never ever leave everything to PAP alone. Therefore, the life, jobs and future of Singaporean belong only to Singaporean and not PAP. Again this must be clear. Only Singaporean can make Singapore great again especially the life, jobs and future of Singaporean. Well I disagree, I feel Vivian balakrishnan did very well. Props to Jamus and Mr Francis Yuen for being good opponents and being very civil however Dr Chee failed to hold such civility and composure in the debate. This is the new gen WP. No more mud slinging, name calling. But rather creating a united parliament that is respectful of what each can bring to the parliament. An opposition that can earn the respect of everyone to be the custodian. Not to be a 2nd driver, but to be the navigator and 2nd pair of eyes on the road. They emphasize so greatly they are not trying to steal the wheel (for now) .VB himself admit that the WP is aligned on many views but w a slight differing opinion which is good.
