Thanks. And yes, there’s nothing like sharing the struggle! 🤣. Sometimes there’s a chorus of ‘it’s easier if you did it this way’. Sometimes there is, sometimes there isn’t. Thanks for watching anyway and ride safe.

Hi Andre - when I fitted mine, I filed /sanded the throttle tube down slightly (10 minute job) and also released the throttle cables from the engine/injector side, which made relocating them much easier. Cheers Tim

Thanks Luthor, I didn’t 🤣. And not breaking stuff was probably my skill levels, or luck. On reflection, definitely luck! I actually bought them in March last year after freezing my hands, but then it got warmer so they sat on the shelf until a few weeks ago. They are very much appreciated now though.

Always great content. I subscribed about one month ago and have been enjoying all the videos. I have a question regarding your three-way plug 2:00. Is this something you just made yourself, or could I purchase it? It's a great idea. It saves messing around with the battery. Thanks.

Hi, it is something I made myself using some extra connectors. They are all Sumitomo HX-060 waterproof connectors in case you can find them locally. If not, I have both male and female connectors in the Peak Motorcycles store. (10% off everything using code PeakMotoSub). peakmotorcycles.com/products/crf300l-crf300-rally-male-bike-side-accessory-connector peakmotorcycles.com/products/honda-crf300l-crf300-rally-accessory-connector Or drop me an email to store@peakmotorcycles.com and we can sort something out.

Another worthy upgrade! With the knurled throttle twist tube there, sometimes silicone spray helps, lets you get it in place easier and the knurled handle will hold it after. Or like you suggested dish soap can help too. Like the control switch integrated into the handle 👌
@PeakMotorcycles
@PeakMotorcycles 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I tried some PTFE spray, and still couldn’t get it on, and then worried that perhaps it would then move once it was. I like the dish soap idea. It sounds like something that would help and then try. Though it was so difficult to get on, I think there’s enough mechanical grip already and I think it’s now on forever. 🤣

A bit fiddly, André, but I like your idea of a multi-plug connection into the the accessory socket.
@PeakMotorcycles
@PeakMotorcycles 2 жыл бұрын
The other option would have been to have a separate fuse block in there, but I couldn’t find one small enough, and it would still need some connectors in there, or to cut them all off. I have some of the ‘bike’ side male connectors if you want to try it.

Hi Roy, I haven’t done it, but yes. Perhaps check the length of the throttle tube first before you cut anything, but I think it should be fine.

Hairspray works very well. The alcohol will evaporate and the sticky part of the hairspray acts like grip glue. I've found that you need to give it a good 24 hours after installation to let it completely set up.
@PeakMotorcycles

Thanks Jim. I guess this would be for the left one. Not sure I have any hairspray (can’t imagine why 😁), but I guess it would be fun to see what looks I get if I went to buy some! 🤣

Hi Andre! Nice video and tidy alternative to the Oxford grips. One question, could you tell me where to find those plugs to build the multi power access you presented? Greetings from Munich, Conrad
@PeakMotorcycles
@PeakMotorcycles 2 жыл бұрын
I found them from a UK automotive supplier. I’ll see if I can find the name. They are Sumitomo HX-060 2 pole male connectors. I bought 50 of them as that was a price break. To buy one or two was about 10x the price. If you can find some locally, that’s probably best. If not, and you’d like some, I think cost me £3.50 each, so if you don’t mind covering the cost + shipping, I can send you some. Drop me an email to admin@peakmotorcycles.com if that looks cheaper than getting them locally.

Have this brand been around a while ? Looked for some reviews but couldn't find any.. they look very tidy great not having a huge controller unit . How longs the warranty?
@PeakMotorcycles
@PeakMotorcycles 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, they have, but mainly for after market dashboards and screens. I think the warranty is one year, but I suspect any damage is likely to occur during installation or a significant fall, and I suspect neither would be a warranty replacement. I guess the only bit to go might be the seal round the button, but it’s not particularly exposed, so maybe that’s not a problem. Time will tell.

@PeakMotorcycles
@PeakMotorcycles 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I made it… one female to three male connectors. Where are you? I have the connectors but only really ship to the UK. If not In the UK, you should be able to get them from and auto-electrics store. The connectors are Sumitomo HX-060 two pole waterproof connectors. A female plugs into a power point on the bike, and the male connectors let you plug your other devices into it.

Do you have instructions on how to you the Sumimoto plugs? I currently have my 12V socket connected to the accessory plug with a SRC Moto plug set. I’d like to now add a connection to Garmin Zümo XT. An option is of course to hardwire it to the battery but your solution seems legit.

@PeakMotorcycles
@PeakMotorcycles 2 жыл бұрын
The circuit is fused for 10A, so that’s the max. In practice, I’d probably try to keep it to 8A or so. If you get to 10, the fuse will blow a lot. I plan on running my BMW Nav VI (less than 1A), my heated grips (4A on the hottest setting) and Denali DM spots (1.6A). See if your various items have the current draw on them. If not and they only have the input power in Watts, divide that by 12 for the current. If they only have output power, then divide the power by the voltage to get the current. E.g. a 40W USB charger provides 40W of power at 5V which is 8A. Make sense?
