I prefer this hammock as part of my gear. John and Zach love their amok. I have been in the amok and can testify that it is a great option too! Just keep in mind it's almost twice the cost of a dream hammock. -Justin

Also, you are correct this is a single layer, I didn't find any advantage for having a double layer for myself since I use an under quilt during colder trips. This is another reason why dream hammock is a great company, you have the options to custom make the hammock to satisfy your needs! I have almost that same hammock. Quality work, quality product. I love my hammock and I can use it all year round. Highly recommend a under-quilt for the colder nights. I went with cinch buckles, but they have slipped on me a couple of time, and ruined the webbed belts on me. I've since ditched them and I am now trying a hardware less setup.

I totally agree with the underquilt! It's a must have for anything around 55° and below. Also sorry to hear about your cinch buckle issue, I've never had mine slip up on me. I know you gotta watch the tree straps when you put them in the buckles for rolling. Your hardware less setup sounds nice though!

You can order them with under quilt hooks or without. That's one of the great qualities of this company. They will pretty much do anything you ask!

If you order their RTS (ready to ship) hammocks then you will have to read the description to make sure it has under quilt hooks
