Dom is the best video game bro of all time, Cole is comedy gold, and Baird... grows on you. Also, be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster. Some pointers. 1) Emergence holes are closed be throwing a frag in it before all the enemies come out or killing all enemies after they emerge 2) While holding grenades you can use melee to plant them as mines 3) Right pumper is your reload. Reloading has a mini game where if you hit it again at the right time you get a damage bonus. Messing up increases reload time on that reload 4) The red gear that appears in the middle of your screen is your health. The more of it you see the more damage you are. 5) Shotguns a pretty short range weapons but they dominate that close in space

Some quick tips before you keep going (also im only halfway through so idk if you figured these things out yet or not) 1. The "sprint" is holding A. It keeps you low to the ground, has bad turn radius, and when running into an obstacle you will automatically stick to it. 2. The lancer in particular is a chainsaw melee, if you hold the melle button it will rev up and you can saw some grubs! The other guns have melee too but work like any expected melee weapon. 3. Hitting the reload button when its in the shaded area will reload faster, and if pressed in the white area will give your bullets extra damage for a time

Awesome to see you play. Some tips: Keep an eye out for the Game's logo in levels (Skull inside a cog gear), there will be COG tags nearby it which allow you to unlock pages for the comics. The shotgun is devastating at point-blank to very close range, so be careful of enemies who wield it. Holding A will allow you to run (although turning becomes limited). Lastly, take some time to look around the skybox and levels and soak in the environmental detail.

Oh man! I can't believe you're playing this, the first game is definitely weird in the dialogue and what's happening as you're kind of thrown in, but the second and third games are absolutely amazing. Everyone is massive and and rugged looking because the humans on that planet had been at war with each other for over seventies years before the Locust invasion! But it's definitely a fun and lore filled series

I miss Gears of War! Also pro tip: hold your "take cover" button (I think it's A?) to sprint. Also don't forget to use your melee when enemies (especially Wretches) get in close! And practice those active reloads so you can reload faster.

Nice to see you playing this! It was definitely one of the best games for the Xbox, really launched that console. Gears is also the grandaddy cover-shooter, the only game that had really done it before was Killswitch, which almost no one played. A tip for you, since you seem to be having trouble in the first vid: this game relies -heavily- on the cover system. You will be more accurate while in cover and not moving around. The opposite of most modern games. And just wait until you get the hang of the active reload system. You'll wonder why no other game does it that way.

The ultimate edition is weird and buggy, especially the chainsaw kills. I can't wait for you to play gears 2 and 3 those are the best in the series. And oh man the series has some cool executions you can pull off, every gun has it's unique execution :)

some pointers you need to know, since skipping tutorials and stuff: 1. hold A to sprint, useful for swapping cover 2. staying on cover greatly reduce incoming damage 3. you mention the guns have low accuracy, other than shooting while moving, which in this game GREATLY worsen accuracy, that's because you didn't do the "active reload" where you press LB while reloading when the bar reaches the right spot. This gives various buffs for different weapons like damage increase, accuracy, rate of fire etc. 4. the standard lancer assault rifle has a one-hit-kill melee where you hold B to rev up the chainsaw. i think you accidentally did this halfway through the level lol i think that's the only core stuff you missed by skipping tutorial, hope you enjoy the game
